Has anyone had any success in gaining some decent mass while also doing cardio about 4x week and eating clean, but above maintenance? I Recently did a cutting cycle and went from 255 lbs. to 210 lbs. I'm 6'1"...looking lean , but not ripped. I want to start bulking again, but there's no way I wanna lose 45lbs again, so I was thinking of eating clean, but big and using cardio in the a.m. at a moderate pace for around 40 mins. to control the fat. Is this realistic?

you'lll gain if your eating more cals than you burn, period. So if your eating enough cals to cover the cardio, yes you'll gain. However, thats alot....you main overtrain your legs and/or CNS. I'd cut it back to three sessions, maybe 30 mins each...that should be more than enough to help you stay lean. Better yet....2 or 3 twenty minute HIIT sessions depending on your tolerance and recovery ability. Don't forget stuff like amount of sleep and other activities factor in quite a bit.

I sometimes to heavy cardio when on a bulking cycle if I want to train for endurance. (I'm stressing here that the cardio is being done for endurance training... not weight loss. I'm not a big believer in cardio affecting body fat loss much.)

It is very easy to gain weight no matter how much cardio you do... and I mean intense cardio training. Eat lots... lift heavy... and take the right drugs and you will build mass while doing cardio.

I seem to also recall something about cardio speeding up your metabolism (a bit) which could increase protein turnover thus even helping build muscle....to a point. Not sure how much this actually affects real world muscle growth.

thanx, yeah i see what you're saying. I'm bulking naturally until Oct. because I just finished a cutting cycle a couple of weeks ago. Do the same rules still apply? If I was using test I would not be concerned, but, since I'm natural this is why I'm concerned.
