Carbs

How many crabs should you take in and at what times of the day? I heard that after a certain time you should either minimize your carbohydrates or eliminate them completely. Does this apply even if you have taken in no carbs earlier in the day? If any of you guys coud help me out with this it woud be very much appreciated.

It depends completely on your goals and your level of activity. There's no magic number of carbs for every person. Tell us a little more about what you're trying to do, and we'll offer opinions. Most importantly, Mr. X will offer opinions.

I should have been more specific. At the moment I am trying to lose fat while still retaining muscle mass. I have been either doing my cardio in the morning or after weight training. At first I was doing an hour to an hour and a half six days a week. I have now cut back to half an hour to fortyfive minutes five to six days a week, since I have lost much o the flab, and I know that too much cardio can be catabolic. Anyway, lately I have been mainly ffocusing on my protein intake more than anything else. My goals are to basically have a good physique with some good cuts. This summer is when I have been concentrating on cutting down, since I was able to put on some good size pretty easily, but I put on fat easily, too.

There are 2 types of diets I would recommend:
50%protein/20%carbs/30%fat, from daily BMR...
BMR=weight x 12
or CKD...read my CKD manuel for more info: (Ketosis/Carb-up)

Foods for 50/20/30:
EFA's like: flaxseed oil, sesamese seed oil, sunflowerseed oil, grapeseed oil, olive oil, peanut oil
fish oils (fish)
Low-GI carbs: oatmeal, brown-rice, yams, beans, sweet-potato
Lean Proteins...try to at least get a serving of each type of protein...milk,casein,whey,soy,egg

P.S. you can start the first 2 weeks with 50%protein/30%carbs/20% fat, then switch to 20% carbs instead of 30%. It depends on how many carbs you are consuming now.
