Car people: Tires?!

Michelin Pilot Alpin. A bit more expensive but last longer and stick to the ground, no matter what.

Down here in the Lower 48, we don't use snow tires for everyday driving.

Well NYC is very similar to Montreal in terms of weather so winter tires are safer IMHO than just good Ol' all-season. :artist:

These are what I just bought for my BMW 300i, 2001:

My last set had 33K miles on them, 2 traversals of the US. The rubber was cracking on the front driver side, but a small incident w/ a median, some pea-soup fog and a not wide enough left turn on my part brought me to the immediate conclusion that if I don't replace the tires within 12 hrs, they will not allow my car to move from wherever it was sitting when the tire deflated.

LOL I didn't have winter tires or even front wheel drive last winter in Minneapolis!

My car spins out great in the Target parking lot during a snow storm!

ah - i know about these such incidents, that's how i got the bfgoodrichs.

let me know how you like them.

:)

Well so far they help me negotiate around all the construction in my complex. Damn townhouses being built on both sides of me. Have to dodge bricks, trucks, hoses and all sorts of shit.

My experience with tires is that companies charge almost exactly what the tire is worth.

Michelins seem to last forever....I have put 80,000 on a set.
