Can you drink too much water?

I drink around a 1-2 gallon a day and piss for England. Are you eating before training Dave? you shouldnt feel the water rolling around unless your empty on food....

Sodium balance in the body is 0.9% salt = isotonic (balanced)
Too much water will dilute the sodium in the blood and it will be hypotonic - Less than 0.9%
Too little water and too much salt will result in a hypertonic - too much salt.

Nice detailed info, but i'm still non the wiser as to how much water i should be drinking.
 
It is confusing because there is no magic amount. The danger zone where people have really gotten in trouble is drinking excessive water while sweating heavily. Since each person is different, the environmental temp, and the intensity of workouts vary, it is hard to know when you are on the edge of too little water or too much. Be sure to drink plenty of water and supplement with a sport drink. When I used to bike a lot I would mix 1/3 powerade with 2/3 water.
