Can protein damage the liver?

I have heard that using protein supplements willdamage your liver – is that true? Maybe it was true before and itis just an archaic thinking by those who don't understand? What sideeffects can one expect from using protein supplements?

No, that is not true. How would protein, the one you get from food as one of the major parts of the diet, hurt your liver? That is non-sense. If anyone ever had a liver problem due to protein supplementation, that would only be either because they take way too much of it, their protein products have some bad additives in them, or they have pre-existing liver issues. In the rest of the cases there is no way in which protein could hurt one's liver.

Your liver creates bile salts needed for fat digestion. Your liver actually has nothing to do with digesting proteins.

Protein consumption will not effect your liver in any way. All these 'high protein diets damage your liver/kidney' statements are total bro science and have no science backing them.

You will have no liver issues eating protein. Whether lean meats, eggs, or supplements, protein is protein. You will not have liver issues from consuming protein.
