can lifting once a week be beneficial?

i just stop doing my back muscle for a good week and return to it next week and it finally got sore again what I always wanted. I just found my way how to get out of that pleateu I've been on. The question is can I still make strength and gain mass by only working once a week? and would it produce a much greater result especially if I applied all lifting techniques?

do 15 sets of 3 compound 5X5 exercises very intense
break it up once in a while
I believe most guys overtrain

To clarify: Do you mean only working out once per week? or Do you mean working each body part once per week?

i've gone from 165 lbs to 230-235 doing nothing but a one body part a week workout. it works for me, will it work for you, i don't know. i think that's something that really depends on your genetics and ability to really focus intensely on what you're doing every single time you train.

working full body once a week

You're still not answering the question.

Do you mean hitting each bodypart once a week.

OR

Training in one workout, the entire body, and then taking six days off before doing it again.

??

Training in one workout, the entire body, and then taking six days off before doing it again. I would still do some cardio exercise 3 times a week. Mon, wensday , Friday I would do my cardio exersice for 20 min. intense. Sunday I would workout.

pretty pointless imo, but i guess its better than nothing. just hit the big 4 movements (squat, dead, bench, military press) really hard and you may see some gains
