Caloric Needs On Cycle

The Grim Repper

New member
Hey folks.
I was uncertain as to whether this should appear within this area as it's diet related or in the gear area as it has to do with that as well.

I'm a 36 year old mesomorphic male, a hair under 6' at about 200 lbs and although I haven't checked my bodyfat recently, I'm pretty lean and should have no problem getting a nice sixer for the summer at this rate. I've got about 15 years lifting experience as well as decent experience with PH/PS.

I'm currently on a diet of about 3,500 calories a day and losing fat nicely. Macronutrient profile is roughly 53%, 40%, 7% (P,C,F). I hit the weights M-F early in the morning (Max-OT) and do cardio in the afternoon about 4 times a week (Max-OT as well). I'm continuing to add strength and some size while I drop fat and am quite pleased. On the weekends, I'll get usually about 1,000 calories less when I'm not weight training/working as hard. So far, I'm quite pleased with this as well to keep me 'tight'.

In about 5-6 weeks, I'm planning to run a Deca/Dbol cycle. I'll be running Deca for 10 weeks with a 4 week Dbol kickstart for the first 4 weeks. I have any necessary ancillary and PCT in place as I should.

My question is: Would I be very far off in the thought that bumping my calories up about 1,000 for weight and non weight days (4,500 and 3,500 respectively) is a decent idea (aka necessary!) in order to make decent gains while on cycle? Obviously, if using this as a starting point, I'll adjust accordingly up or down. I'm quite positive that 3,500 calories a day is likely not going to be adequate to assist in fueling growth as it normally wouldn't be likely enough, even now.

I understand this question falls into both areas of diet and gear, and I apologize for any confusion that may arise from that.

Any input from those with the actual experience to offer is greatly appreciated in advance.

Thank you VERY much!

Regards,

TGR

I know nothing about gear, but 7% is very low for fat (fat is used to make testosterone, I imagine this function remains important even ingesting exogenous testosterone). Most suggest fats > 20, or at least 15% (although if someone experienced with gear has prescribed 7%, give greater deference to them of course)

Thanks for the reply Sim...!

Excellent point! I neglected to mention that I'm planning to alter my macronutrient profile a bit when on cycle. (Silly Repper!)
Yeah, I'll likely be in the 15-20% range (knowing me 15%!) and bring my carbs up slightly. The overall calorie increase should provide enough carbohydrates I'm thinking.

If anyone can provide any feedback, I'd appreciate it!

Thanks!
