California Senate Votes For Same-Sex Marriage

Being pro gay marriage (meaning that I dont give a shit what other people do as long as it doesnt affect me) I would be interested to hear an argument against gay marriage/unions/whathaveyou that is NOT based on any sort of religious objection.

First of all, I may get flamed for this(..lol...) but to allow such a deviant lifestyle to be recognized, by the governing state, is outlandish. Marriage is between Man and Woman. PERIOD!!!
Secondly, I find that it is just a precursor to worse things. Such as our country becoming more Liberal, higher STD rates and adoptions by same sex couples(I'll catch shit for that...no pun intended).

How is homosexuality "deviant?" And also, I said dont bring religion into this, which is where the "man/woman" thing originates from.

Dude, I'm so far from being religious. That has nothing to do with it. It's a personal belief. :Chef: :tuc:

Personal belief or insecurity?

I bet you played swords with the neighbor boy, didn't you? It's OK, most boys do it. It's part of development, you just need to get over it.

Anyway, it is a moot point because if CA recognizes it, that doesn't mean other states have to. Which is where the power - or lack of it - lies.

I think his point is that it wasn't some juduicial activist, legislating from the bench and over the head of the elected representatives. Its a good start in reversing that trend.

True that, however the very idea that marriage is only between a man and a woman stems from religion.

How does two guys or two gals sharing a union effect you?
