Not at all.. My only concession would be that it be Federal in scope, and to call it something other than Marriage, as that is one main issue causing a LOT of the Non Religious and religious pushback against it happening.

Let those thinking Marriage is a sacred thing have it defined as 1 man and 1 woman as it is today in it's unwritten form. And let the others have the legal rights they deserve under some other new Federal equal standard.

Oh,, but then the "Seperate but Equal" PITAs will come forth quoting the civil rights comparison..

personally, what the hell do i care if two gay people want to marry- they don't tell me who i should or should not marry- and i don't plan on telling them.
what people do, behind closed doors, is their business and if two people love eachother- let them enjoy it- legally or otherwise.

my thought is, if you're a religious zealot, against all things homosexual, then don't another guy fuck you and don't marry another guy, but let the other people do what they want.
