Buying OL shoes

i want to buy some OL shoes, from
http://www.safe-usa.com/olympiclifting1.htm for squatting, but how do you know what size to get them in? The shoes are pricey, and go in half sizes, so i would like them to be as snug a fit as possible, but i of course cannot try these on. Anyone who has bought these shoes before (i recall Bfold and CoolColJ), did you find these ol shoes to be in sizes comparable to a much more mainstream shoe? (perhaps all addidas's?) in other words how should i go about pickin the right size shoe?

You need to look and see what size of a leather dress shoe you wear...then get that size OL shoe...

I wear a 16 in regular shoes...but purchases a 14, I believe, in the OL shoes.

I wear size 11 US, I bought my Ironworks in size 11 US - perfect fit :)

I don't like my shoes to be super tight, but they are pretty snug, and they have straps for further tightening

oh yeah they re-sole pretty easily

well just take it to a good shoe re-soler in any shopping area :)

because the heel is wood with a rubber sole, they just srtip the old worn sole off, and put a new one on. You can choose differnet materials etc

so i take it you had it done.

how much did it cost? what type of sole did you get?

not to rub it in.....but mine are still fine!

well i wear a size 13, of those little italian dress shoes w/ tassels..... so i'm thinking either 13 or 13 1/2, dont want them too snug...... hmmmm

No I bought my shoes in and enquired, and they said, they do them all the time :)

Well it's all at the back, same deal with my other sports shoes! Must be how I walk/land or something :(

Well I think mine look much nicer :p

haha i did like the "street look" of the adidas shoes....and i have been a loyal adidas fan for many years.

But my shoes have an authentic european/polish feel to them (they are made in poland). Which comes in handy!

if and when i ever compete i will probably wear adidas shoes.

but for now.....these suit my training needs (they do turn a few heads.....that blue suede drives the girls crazy!)

maybe i should add a third white stripe?

Well The Power Firm blue shoes ought to garner some attention :)

Well I get a lot of enquiries about my shoes, since I put them on only when I oly lift or squat in the gym itself. Everyone says " they sure look good" :D
