BURSTING out of my clothes!

For those who have been BB'ing/PL'ing for a while .... Can you wear ANYTHING you used to? OK, granted, I've put on a fair amount of fat since my comp - not the eeek! OMG! out of control type. Just, well, back to normal, I guess, but bigger. I seriously reckon I'm at least 10kg bigger than I used to be a few years ago, mostly muscle. I think. Well, it's not fat, so it must be muscle. Like, I don't think my sleeves are tight over my FOREARMS and biceps because of FAT. :D I've been buying progressively larger clothes as I go, but this whole year was dieting, so I didn't have too much of a problem, but now .....

What to do - just bite the bullet and go out and buy MORE new clothes? I suppose I could diet, but then ... well, I'd have to diet. And that's not in my immediate plans this month - maybe next month - I'm still working on gaining now. Have you ladies had to toss a bunch of clothes over the years, as you grow? Or do you keep them for dieting phases? Or just wear a belt at those times? (Or just stay lean ... not an option here I don't think :( ).

Nothing like tight clothes to make you feel fat!

Well I am not a competitor, but this issue has come up for me many times.

I unfortunately do not have an answer for you....but while I am leaner than I have been in my entire life, I cannot fit into my things. Even my wedding band and engagement ring -- which when I ahd more bodyfat, are tight over the knuckle and I cannot get them off. Even my watch band had to have links added as my forearms are bigger than before and I highly doubt I am as fit and as muscular as you!

Is it possible for the bones/knuckles to grow too?

I have 3 stages of clothes in my closet -- unforutnately while that may sound like alot -- it is spartan still! I have one pair of khakis that seem to fit no matter what as I use a belt when necessary or just let them stay baggy... but only one pair of jeans in each size and even then, my quads are suffocating!

My jackets all pull across the back (arm holes ALL have holes in the lining!!).

I can honestly say that while this is a GOOD problem to have, it is frustrating nonetheless and YES tight clothes make you feel fat when you know you are not!

I wished I had a solution for your problem but it is not only you (and I am sure it is not all the comforting to hear!).

I'm not a competitor, but because my physique is hard to clothe I usually have to settle for pieces made with a particular fabric so they are not constricting. Tops are especially a pain because my back is thick and I have double Ds. That's why I stick with stretchable fabrics. That way I don't have to worry about breaking the bank by buying too many new pieces. :)

I would have to agree with grlpwrd on this Steel. I have a similar problem as well. I buy clothes to fit my thighs, not my waist - I have learned to LOVE my thick thighs, slowly turning into tree trunks!!! :D Stretch pants can be a girls best friend!!!
I will usually diet a little, if it's neccessary (I can be a VERY bad girl with my diet sometimes, more times than not - it's purly what i've been eating). Or just cut out caffine, and up water intake. That's what usually works for me, just to come down to a breathable fit in my clothes.

Just buy bigger clothes. Better yet is to buy bigger, BAGGIER clothes so you won't have to upsize again. Don't worry, super baggy is still "in" in some pockets of society so you won't look totally outta place. Make sure they have PLENTY of room in the thighs and chest!!

lucky you if you are able to comfortably fit into clothes that are "off-the-hanger-ready"

...for the rest of us, we can get our clothes tailored...after all, we're worth it! I don't think wearing something that resembles a gunny sack would be very flattering to most ladies (or guys for that matter). In fact, something too big can make you look LARGE and frumpy!

P.S. i just got a peek at J.Lo's new clothing line...lots of stretchy fabric for those curves!:D :mommakin:

Start wearing togas. Send pics.

thats where i met "Nonerz" at my very own toga party(evil grin)....lets just say her toga didnt make her look "frumpy".

pics in her gallery.

oh and the j-lo line....... :garza:

Well, I get bigger all the time, but that's been due more to gobbling than to lifting. ;)

But of late, my bra bands have been getting tight. I'm getting lats! :D

LMFAO! How about a kilt?

So, the only thing to do is to look on the the bright side :) My thighs are up an inch since the last time I measured at a comparable bf level, a few months ago. Not bad going for a girl with long femurs :D Haven't measured anywhere else, but my shirts are telling the story ... I suppose if I insist on following this path I must take the thorns with the roses.

I'm not a huge fan of stretchy/tight clothes (or skirts) - I always feel like I'm being strangled & constricted. But go too baggy and the diesel dyke label is not far behind (I'm secretly too femmy for that, even though my favourite window shopping is in DIY stores, lol). I HATE shopping for clothes, since nothing ever fits - nothing ever has, my whole life - always too short, too tight, too sack-like, too constrictive ... I swear, clothes off the rack are totally disproportionate. Things got a bit better when I came to Japan and there wasn't a snowball's chance of hell of me fitting into the women's things here, and I started wearing men's clothes - well, pants anyway - they fit surprisingly better than any women's clothes ever have. Women's pants always have this jodhpur-like empty bulge right at the hips, and they're too short.

Nonerz - I've always looked large - it's hard to look petite when you're 5'11", but somehow the height saves me from looking frumpy.

Sigh, well there goes 8-10 pairs of jeans that I kept thinking I'd fit into again someday (Lobo, be RUTHLESS). BB lesson #101 - don't get attached to favourite clothing items. I think the baggy pants and loose-ish stretchy top look could go down OK :)

Here's another clue.... don't buy clothes one week from a competition... I have stuff that still has the tags on it. Jeez. THank god for stretchy clothes & skirts.
