Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle

So I've seen this book being suggested to be read a lot and I always thought I knew better and didn't need it so I never bothered trying to look it up. Lately, I've been stuck at the same weight for a long time and I just started reading the book (2.5 chapters down) and it's like a gift from god. I've lost over 50 lbs since August but I was doing it wrong. I was eating low calorie (1900 cals) about a day + doing cardio 6 days a week. I was reading this book and I began to think so much about calories and how I really don't know how much I should be eating to be losing body fat in a healthy manner. The only thing I've ever done was punch in some numbers on dailyplate.com and let that do all the work for me.

I really need help in figuring out how much calories I should be eating so I can eat healthy amounts and still lose weight. I calculated my BMR (2390) but I don't necessarily know what that means. Does that mean that I should be eating at least 2390 calories a day? I'm about 236-240 lbs and I'm 6'4. How much do you guys recommend that I eat everyday?

I have heard good things about this book. I have also read the book myself before I made
my book. Looks to me like this book covers what to cook and my book covers how to cook it. Both good books.

Of course mine covers a lot more then just that and so dos Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle but thats putting it as simple as you can.

That is a great book Bro - I have read most of it. Needto's book is equally as great in a different way.

I'm 6'2" and have struggled with weight. My BMR is very close to yours. I roughly target 2500 to 3000 calories per day - all clean foods / no sugar or processed foods. (Bucket loads of Splenda though).

At 2000 cal / day I lose weight at a slow steady, healthy pace. 2500-3000 keeps me the same unless I really up the cardio. First meal of the day is high protein, high fiber with fruit. About 1300 cal. Eat every 2 hours from then on - largely protein bars fruits, nuts and peanut butter while at work. No carbs after 6PM. Dinner is largely protein and veggies. Grapefruit for dessert.
