Bulking and water

How much of the weight gained when bulking is water weight, if coming off a diet, for a natural bodybuilder? Ex, if you gain 20-25 lbs in 15 weeks, how much can be attributed to water?

depends on how much sodium you consumed. Water isn't going to just hang in there for no reason. Sodium and stuff like creatine will make you hold water. But if you're not consuming either i don't see why you would be holding all this extra water you're talking about.

Well, it's not ALL water!!

I was just hoping that some of it was. I gained 15 lbs in a matter of a couple weeks, then last week, I gained 10 more. I've been eating big, but 10 lbs in a week? I've been eating maybe 3500 kcals on average, so I shouln't be seeing huge jumps like this.

If you were coming off a low carb diet a lot of this weight gain can be attributed to reintroducing your body to carbs. I have read something like each gram of glycogen your body stores retains 4 grams of water. Other then that it is most likely due to the excess sodium from all the extra food.
