I had the same problem, and the truth is preventing waistline growth during a bulk is difficult, the goal is to minimize it. Try lowering your calories ever so slightly.. maybe u're eating a little too much.

Also, they say that if you have a bodyfat percentage over 15%, you are more likely to store a greater % of calories as fat rather than muscle.

Another option is to add a little bit of cardio into the mix. Some people swear against cardio while bulking, but others will tell you that it is never a bad idea to keep your heart in good shape, and it might help keep that gut in check.

Try either the cals or the cardio... in moderation..and pay close attention. If your waistline growth is slowing down, but your lifts are still improving... you're on the right track.

Bottom line, you're gonna bulk on a bulk, don't be too worried about it if size if your priority right now.

Hell bro, if you are gaining weight, that's the goal,!!!I give you props for eveing gaining, thats tough in its own right...!!!Keep up the pump homeboy

ive been trying to bulk for the past 2-3 months now. I'm eating about 3000 calories a day and im stuck at 163 lbs a 11% bodyfat, everyone at work is like why the hell are you trying to gain..its not very easy, well for me

3000 cals is low for a bulk...bump to 3500 and see what happens. then to 3800 if you see no results...keep doing that until you start gaining

ive been wanting to bump my calories over 3000 for the past month, but im to busy with work and school starts tomorrow, so id rather eat 3000 clean calories then 3800 bad calories you know. i eat alot of chicken, whole grains, red meat, fruit and veggies, rice..my diet is good, i just need more of it

If you're anywhere near 200 lb. , 3000 might not even be maintenance calories though, forget about major gains at 3000 a day.

The slightest diffrence in calories can makea big diffrence. I was cutting on 2000-2200 when i started bulking i was in a similar situation to you apart from your BF% is lower. I dopped to 168lbs and started to bulk on around 3000cals didnt add any weight whatsoever. The next run i bumped the cals gradually to around 3600-800 give or take until i seen a diffrence on the scales. I was aiming for around 1lb a week but ended up gaining around 2lb a week it slowed al little. If you are struggling to get clean meals in trying adding another couple of whey shakes in. What are you macros at the min?
