Brock Lesnar makes UFC debut on Feb 2

Should be interesting to see.

Mir hasn't been the same since his crash and Brock is a freaking machine.

It seems to me brock can just pick him up and smash him.. Unless he gets caught in the chin

perhaps a similar style to mark coleman

I wasn't aware Lesnar was such an accomplished colligate wrestler.

Lesnar won the 2000 NCAA wrestling championship as a heavyweight after placing second in 1999. Prior to joining the Minnesota Golden Gophers, Lesnar also wrestled at Bismarck State College in Bismarck, North Dakota.[3] Lesnar finished his amateur career as a two-time NJCAA All-American, two-time NCAA All-American, two-time Big Ten Champion, and the 2000 NCAA heavyweight champion with a record of 106-5 overall in four years of college.

I'll put my money on Chuck Norris... He'd get his scrawny ass murdered.

anybody expecting Lesnar to come out and dominate the heavy weight division in the UFC is fooling themselves. Lesnar is there because of his name. Dana is no fool........he knows having a guy like Lesnar on the card means pay per view numbers. I hope they don't elevate him because of his name. And ground and pound is meaning less and less these days because guys are getting so good off their back. He'll probably win alot of boring fights just because he'll get on top of someone and keep em there, but do little damage because people know how to stall the ground/pound. The second he stands with someone he's getting clipped. I like the guy, I hope he does well.........but I also hope he realizes that modern MMA demands that you can't be one dimensional anymore, no matter how good you are at that one dimension.

What was his finisher? I think it was called the F5 powerbomb? That would be awesome.

Plus at least now he can't go off the top rope and break his leg.

Who is this Lesnar?

oh and also
" I had no idea what this old man next to me was saying, all I could think about was who was this CJ from the Baywatch village"

I really don't think you can make that assumption until he fights a worthy opponent. He took a former judo champion down within seconds of the first round and made the guy tap by ground and pound (not ref stoppage) which is very rare.

The questions are: how well can he take a punch and how well does he do on his back? If his training has went as well as he and his camp states, his ground defense may be pretty good.

So the real question lies in his jaw.

He's the first heavyweight to combine size, strength, speed, and actual talent other than being a brawler ie: tank.

As long as he finishes and doesn't lay and pray like a lot of people with wrestling backrounds do, I think he's gonna do well.

being a judo champ means nothing in MMA when guys are coming at you from angles you don't work on in judo. When a wrestler is shooting on you for a double leg, it ain't judo that gets you out of that. Unfortunately in the new MMA rules........you're not allowed to bring a forearm down on someone's neck or just put your hands on their head and push down. You would see a complete shift in strategy in MMA if those tactics were allowed.

Min Soo Kim is a poor fighter who sported a 3-6 record when he fought Lesnar. If you touch Kim, he gives up. His most noteworthy fights are losses against mediocre opponents. Kim is also a natural lightheavyweight, not a heavyweight. Mir has world class experience and victories at that level, despite his recent streak of losses. Mir is definitely a step up for Lesnar.

Mir by submission or KO. Lesnar has no head movement, paws with his left and drops it, presents no angles, and bolts straight in. Lesnar is too green.

I just caught a little blurb about him on Sportsnet showing his training and I was really surprised. The guy is still HUGE, I figured after getting off the sauce he would have lost a lot of size but he looks very close to how big he was in the WWE.
