ok, i'll admit it, i'm just a pretty and delicate lil' flower who thinks brits are refined and generally superior. the rest of us are just fat and stupid. how silly of me to think otherwise.

For my thesis, I have two committee members who are from England.

Why are americans so defensive? They just have to try to pick on anybody who doesnt automtically treat them like they are something special.

Dude, i'm just busting your balls. I think you know what a Napoleon Complex is and I think you know exactly what I'm referring to in this case too. You just want me to spell it out so you can get even more upset and turn the argument around so it sounds like Americans (which I'm not by the way) are arrogant and think they're superior. We already know you think that. It's cool.

Yes I know what a napoleon complex is.........however I am struggling to see how this applies tot he vast majority of people that I know. So please explain.

Oh and you are ducking the issue.........you wanted to play outspoken toughguy and now you cant back up your opinion.

I am sure if I criticised the USAs attitude towards others I would be called to justify what I say........in amongst all of the flames of course. Why si this any different?

Dear God, there's apparently no way out of this one... OK, I think a lot of brits feel that their place in the world has diminished and I think there's a fair amount of resentment towards the US for taking over the role the British Empire used to play. I know you will disagree with me and you're certainly entitled to that opinion, I'm just stating mine. I think you know that this is what the "Napoleon Complex" was referring to. No, I'm not an expert on brits and I'm sure you know a lot more about what's going on in the psyches of brits but i also think that an outsiders perspective is valid. I'm sure you have plenty of opinions about Americans (actually, that's pretty clear) even though you're not one.

Was that explanation of my Napoleon statement good enough (whether or not you agree)?

1) The opinions that I expressed about americans are common MISCONCEPTIONS based on IGNORANCE. I was throwing them around because of the bullshit comments about brits teeth........another MISCONCEPTION based on........you guessed it........IGNORANCE.

2) Your opinion of brits is based upon Britains past. The average brit really doesnt give a shit about it let alone actively compare our current position to it. I am sure that there are certain families that have held high social positions that might hold the opinion that you talk about........but most brits have a very negative opinion of these people anyway.

3) Brits dont really resent the USA. However, there is resentment towards the USA in many countries because of the large influence it has over their lives. I think I might add 'amercian citizens are paranoid' to that list I posted earlier.
