...you need to take another ab region pic to give an indication of what you typically look like in the off-season....I get a lot of Pms that think that bb'ers are in contest trim all year...it would really help with motivation as you have an unbelievable torso and I think it would help put thing is perspective for the masses.

Seriously...think about it.

roflmao :) Call me out baby :) I will take a pic here in a little while and post it, you don't want to see it :) doesn't look like my avatar, right now i am lean and muscular on the inside and soft and cuddly on the outside :) I will take a pic though just to show how soft I get offseason, give me 12 weeks though, will look better than my abs were in my avatar :)

thank ya....

*damn that was easy*

Muuuahahahahahahaha

Great!!

Nothing wrong with soft and cuddly either......

thanks.

There ya go! :) now remember, I started my period last friday, first one in like 10 months, and its a doozy! still going real heavy even today :) so I am a little more bloated than normal, but that is basically what it looks like offseason, I wanted to put on some more muscle so I sacraficed some leaness, doesn't bother me one bit, that will be off in 12 weeks, actually, in 5 weeks they will be very visible. Have fun! :) :) :)

Nice job...

It gives perspective to those that are close to your off-season..and motivation to know that it can be done.

Thanks Sexy.

Thanks SO much Brickgirl (and Corn) - you still look incredible! (i think i can............i think i can...........i think i can..........................)

see there......it's helped someone already..in fact - I challenge all competiotrs to put up some "normal" off season shots.....

Okay, I posted another pic of me on that URL, weekend before last, having some fun :) Weighed in at 151.2 pounds, that was about the peak of my bulking phase :)

5'3 or 5'4" last time was about 112-114 pounds depending on time of day of contest :) next time I hope for 115-117 pounds. :)

so you drop 30 or so during contest prep???

WOW!!!

Very nice......both off and on season......

yes sir, next time, hopefully I will have enough muscle, that I won't have to be so radical in my approach and I can just gain a few pounds of fat to use to help build muscle with. :)

I was SO waiting for you to post :) and I knew I would get in trouble :) well, you can't build muscle on 5% bodyfat can you? I mean, you can't expect to maintain that kind of leanness and have what your body needs to build muscle? can you?

I haven't seen the pics, but I will confirm that I also drop at least 30lbs to get competition lean. I don't gain a lot in strength/muscle size below ~15%bf, and I stay between 15-18% bf in the off season. Works really well for me even if i don't look 'hot' in the off season. Of course for me, a decent amount of that weight is water. 10lbs comes off pretty quickly :)

wow brickgirl you look awsome!!!I've been getting my girlfriend to hit the gym,and straighten up her diet bigtime in hopes for her to have a build like yours. She is already in pretty good shape at 118 lbs 5-8 21 years old.Can you tell me just a little about your past cycles, and what you do to look the way you do,other than the obvious diet, and weights.

Everything else besides diet and weights is minimal, Diet is the #1 thing. :)

impressive ... thanks for sharing ...
I totally agree, great on & off pics - it shows everyone that it can be done ... it helped me

what does yours look like on/off season?

offseason as long as I get 290 grams of protein a day, I am set, I don't watch the carbs and fat as close, but when I am getting ready for a show, the protein comes down to about 190grams and the carbs and fat are in check, everything is measured to the T and there are no cheat days and every day is the same, that is the way I like it. Water offseason is about a gallon a day, when getting ready for a show, goes up to about 2 gallons a day. Works for me :)

Wilson6 : I would love to hear a reply from you, I highly respect your opionion, and next time I won't balloon up, but I was just wondering if it was just the wording I used or if I am way off base somewhere with the gaining a little fat to be able to put on some muscle? Help me out! :) :) :)

I think Wilson mis-interpreted you comment, as did I at first...you mean that it is hard to put on lbm when bf is kept at very low levels...

Yep...I agree.

I read somewhere that the "ideal" training weight is 5-7% above contest weight.

Too low imo.

Look at the most successful pros - most of them really look...well...shitty in the off season.....who looks the best offseason ...Shawn Ray and others...that is why their contest weight hasn't gone upin 10 years.......perhaps Shawn does not "supplement" to the same extent as the others, but there is a correlation between off season bulk and onstage beef.

5-7% above contest weight HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I put that on in 3 days with fluid retention alone and before I've gained an ounce of fat. The only thing that would allow me to add muscle whithout gaining a healthy amount of fat is adding AAS. Many women seem able to sit around 12%bf while gaining muscle if they are 'supplementing' properly. Without the supps, I've never seen a woman gain any permanent muscle if she tries (like so many do) to stay around 12%bf. It's a sad thing to see a woman after her first figure or fitness competition desperately trying to stay lean and sexy while gaining muscle for the next show, while refusing to take any AAS. This is destined to fail IMHO.

Hi everyone! I have found it just impossble to stay in the 10-12% range and put on muscle,so I no longer try. As long as I'm within 20 lbs of contest weight I don't sweat it. The funny thing is that although I'm heavier than before I began my last contest prep the additional muscle put on has changed my body shape and I look better than ever. I also think that for the older women like myself staying ultra lean is very hard and not for the best. I know that now I feel solid and strong and am making nice gains in the gym. Also I think that we a break form the constant obsession with leanness as that can lead to eating disorders.

Oh my gosh! Thank you guys SOO much for posting this info! Wow. After reading this I have seen a new light. It gives me a whole new way of thinking, gives me a whole new plan of attack for my future bodybuilding goals! Let's just put it this way, I'm guilty! Guilty of being obsessed with getting leaner and staying that way. This changes everything! People, and especially family have kept questioning my desire to be leaner, they all seem to think I'm lean enough. I'm at 15% now and I was wanting to get to 12% and just stay there. But if I can't gain muscle that way then I guess that goal will have to change cause in October I was planning on being at 12%, maintaining there, but shifting my focus to gaining muscle and strength. So you guys have already warned me that most likely it isn't possible. And MS when you said about how your body fat readings will go up 5-7% even if you haven't gained an ounce of fat explains SOO much! And to think I was getting all bummed out over nothing! Cause the same thing happens to me! My body fat readings can bounce up and down from week to week even though I may not see any change in my definition! I was getting so confused! I didn't realize water affected the readings THAT much! So thanks a lot to everyone! Best thread ever! :)

Brick girl,

I must say, very impressive. It's just amazing to me that your able to lose so much weight so quickly. Could you be more specific about your diet(carbs, fat, cal?). How much cardio do you do? Also what size do you go from losing the 30lbs(do you have 2 wardrobes?)? And how much do your measurements change?
You must take some type of supplements or steroids?

I know it's a lot, but thanks for anything

What I have lost so far is just water weight, I have increased my water from 1 gallon a day to 2 gallons a day and went back to my base diet with a little extra protein for "hopefully" a slight increase of LBM from last time. Supplement wise, just the standard 10mg of bratis, but that hasnt even had time to get in my system yet. Clothes, I wear baggy clothes all the time, it's just the panty size that changes :) Right now I am wearing a medium, will end up wearing an XS. Of course I take my vitamins/minerals/creatine daily, and the 6 meals a day timed out. It's just fun getting back into the routine, I LOVE knowing exactly what I am going to eat for every meal, so much better than "what the heck am I going to eat for dinner?" :)

when ure getting ready for a show what is your fat/carb intake like?

Well, on my base diet I take in 29 grams of fat, and that stays consistent the whole diet. I take in about 90 grams of carbs through the whole diet and when I get closer to the show, if I need to drop some more I will go to 1/2 carbs for 2-4 days and see if that gets me there, if for some reason, I messed up somewhere, I would go to 1/4 carbs for 2-4 days but I havn't had to do that yet :) Whenever I go to 1/2 carbs and then go back to base carbs, my abs shine out, just like in my avatar, that was a day after a carb deplete cycle. This works for me :)

can you post the 'every-day-meal-plan" getting ready for contest? it would help me out greatly ... I seem to always screw up on the carbs prior to shows. thanks!

bg, yeah lets here about your past cycles, especially the most recent that got you where you are today. please share with us hot stuff...

Gosh BG, that's less than 10 cals per lb. You must be a hungry girl!

I agree with you on knowing what you're gonna eat. I went back to my prior diet last week and feel SOOO much better.

here are some more ?? for ya bg, if you will so kindly respond to...
why are you dropping your pro intake b4 a show to 190? what happens for you dropping it this low? is your "base diet" an ongoing on/and off season way of eating? whats your carb deplete cycle? thanks dear

Gee, I don't think it's that low. She only weighs 150 - well 140 now I believe - so it's still almost 1.5g per lb - that's plenty.

Actually, it will come out to be 13.56 calories per pound of bodyweight :) Of course you calculate for the weight you are gonna be, not the weight you are :) and 190 is low? that is 1.6 grams per pound, most guys are lucky to get 1.0 when they are bulking up :) I cut the protein down because I don't need that much protein to negate muscle loss, but that is still a lot of protein. When I do cut carbs, and that will be just like 3 weeks before the show if everything is right and just for like 3-4 days, then I will just cut all my carb intake into half, if everything goes right :)

ok it makes sense now. at 290g pro your in serious bulking phase and dropping to 190 is the precursor to cutting? can you tell me your formula for calculating 13.56 cals per lb bdy wt? so are you saying that it only takes you ~ 3 wks from your "soft and cuddly abs" to your "brickgirl abs?" damn! growl!

Well, I am currently taking in about 1,600 calories so 1600/118 is around 13.56, 118 is the weight I am going for this contest, we shall see :), kinda like when I was weighing 120 after the last show, I wanted to get up to about 150, so I ate like I was 150, not like I was 120. :) I don't use those formulas or anything, that is just what it happend to turn out to be :)

and no, it takes my abs longer to come in, I just cut carbs 3 weeks out from the show usually, in which brings them in much much better :)

I still can't believe that cute little belly is going to turn into a rock hard six pack. The first time I saw your avatar Brickgirl, I thought it was a picture of a guy's midsection! VERY impressive.

Keep the pics coming, I've bookmarked the page, and look forward to the metamorphosis.

how 'bout posting that diet bg that w84me requested. i wanna see what youre consuming for contest prep. and those really are the cutest abs girl! hard to think that underneath are those "bricks." :) oh yeah, the cycle too (if any). you have any trouble w/abd bloating? if so whats the way to deal w/ that?

Very cool post..

Brickgirl that was a very cool post , how much dieting and what type of a cycle do you do to get that ripped....

Hey do you have any naked pictures??? luv to see the kitty..

Let's see, this is pretty much the basics of it.

7:00am
1/2 cup Dry Oatmeal
1 Protein Shake

10:00am
1 chicken breast
1/2 potato

1:00pm
1 chicken breast
1/2 cup Dry Oatmeal

4:00pm
5oz Sirloin
1/2 potato

7:00pm
1/2 cup rice
1 Protein Shake

9:00pm
1 Protein Shake

2 Gallons of water a day plus all the ruffage I want, yup, I think that is it. :)

p.s. Now remember, this probably will not work for anyone on this board, it took me a while to get this to work for me, and if you took this as a starting point you would probably have to make a bunch of changes, this is just what happens to work for me :)

No gear????

No Gear mixed in with that at all????

Interesting. In terms of protein and carbs, that is almost EXACTLY how I eat when cutting. Only difference is that I eat all those starchy carbs (oats, spuds and rice) in the first 3 meals and all the veggies in meals 4 and 5. But totals for the day look identical. Works for me everytime.

I'm with MS, always have 3 carb & protein meals during the first half of the day. Then my other 3 meals are protein and fat. Seems to really help if I stop carb intake halfway thru the day...

Nothing else?

I like to spread mine out :) and just take 10mg of anavar while dieting down to prevent any kind of muscle waste. :)

Just 10 mg of anavar a day, nothing else, no winny, test, of fina???

So how about some naked pictures??? like I said luv to see that kitty when she is all ripped up..(hahahahahhahahaha)

Did you switch? I thought you were taking Winnny? Well, Bratis anavar in the winny pill. LOL...

Think I might try out the papervar :) I'm still not totally convinced the bratis is winstrol, im sure the bottle/pills that were tested were, but mine just doesnt feel the same as winstrol that I have taken before. and yes, anavar is all I take while leaning down. :)

That's cool. Whatever you are doing sure seems to work for you. You look great.:D

pro shakes

im wondering when you guys and gals say pro shake was exactly does that mean? just pro and h20...or strawberries, banana,pb,and pro??? i haaaate and can do just the pro and h20...nasty...

blood work

bg, you ever have elevated liver enzymes or cholesterol on var? what about acne? i havent tried var but i hear both are/could be a problem...

one obviously has to be asthetically pleasing when doing shows, competitions, etc, how does one dea lwith the acne that will inevitably accompany AS use?

The way I take, I take low doses for longer periods of time, thus I usually just get the "acne" at the beginning of the cycle due to an immediate hormone flunction, but once it gets a steady blood level and I take it consistently, I don't have any acne. :)

wow... thanks for sharing the menu; I was surprised no greens. But like you said - it works for you.

Thanks so much for keeping us updated with the website! That's really sweet of you.

yeah, thanks. and bg, to get to contest shape do you always gain 30lbs +/- and then lean down to 113-115-or whatever contest wt is?

I needed the most muscle mass in the least amont of time, so I ate protein like a horse, cause the fat is easy to get off. Hopefully, when I lean down, I will have enough mass that I won't have to bulk up like that again, we shall see though :) I am hoping to get down to about 118 this time, that would be very cool, a gain of 4lbs in muscle in 7 months would be amazing. :)

damn! last time I saw your pics you were just starting to lean out. I cant believe how awesome the finished product was!! great work grl!!

so bg, this is the first time youve ever gained to 150 then leaned to 113-118? kind of a trial and error thing for you huh? looks like you know what youre doing. keep us updated...

Hi KB! and no fitmedic, last time I went from 125 to 150 down to 114 then up to 151.2 and hopefully down to 118, but it might be lower :)

hee hee, how sad is it that my abs don't look much better ever than your off season shot! you are an inspiration girl. you look great!!

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh thanks brick!!! i love seeing shots like this....im offseason right now and look about like you shot....but damn girl....i have not got down as good as your avatar but will be by march!.....you gotta love the ox..hehe

So how often will you do cardio starting off? Do you bump it up to twice a day eventually? In case I forgot to mention b4 ...you look awesome and thanks for keepin us all up to date!!

I do 30 minutes of cardio in the morning, speed 3.2 on a slight incline on a treadmill. That's all the cardio I will do, everyday, monday-sunday. :)

you are looking great ... and like everyone else has said, thanks for keeping us up to date with the shots. You can really see your abs coming in. Are you afraid that cardio everyday will eat away the extra mass that you worked so hard to put on?
