Hey guys. Im tryin to lean up a little bit and looking for a good breakfest idea because im am just plain burnt out on my oats lol. What would be a good substitute? I know it is an important time for some carbs. What do you guys eat for your 1st meal of the day?

Scrambled eggs + cheese tastes best for me, no carbs unfortuantely, which generally I'd aim for in morning.

Barley, Quinoa are other grains of comparable quality to oats. Personally, consider using cottees light choc topping, with artificial sweetner. Makes oats taste like hot choc milk shake

Thanks for the suggestions, that sounds like a bad ass omelet lol. I have also considered putting stuff in my oats. That choc topping sounds good. What about honey?

Don't know if you've every tried it. But I make oatmeal mixed with natural applesauce and cinnamon . It actually tastes pretty good.

I may try that. You mean like cook up some instant oats and then mix it with the applesauce? I usually eat the Mccarens steel cut. Would it work with them?

I just use some regular quaker oats (not the special microwave kind). I take a half a cup and mix it with 3/4 cup water and microwave for 2 and a half minutes. Then I mix in 1/4 of no sugar added applesauce in and as much cinnamon as I want. It comes out pretty good and no processed sugar but its sweet from the applesauce.

I mix my oats with my am protein shake. Let them sit in there for 15 or 20 minutes to soften up. Very tastey.

For breakfest, I go with either different kinds of omlettes or I make a quiche and eat off of it through the week. Make your own crust, that way you can control the fat content. Use some whole wheat flower, yeast and water. You don't need to add sugar or salt. Make a nice thin crust and pre cook it a few minutes before pouring in your quiche mixture. You'll get a nice, thin crispy crust. Spinich, turkey and brocolli make a great quiche.

7am Waxy Maize
720am Protein Isolate
830am Oatmeal with natural honey (if you looking to get away from it NPB with wheat bread)
845am 6 hard boiled egg whites

that covers my food portion of my first meal(s)

I'm not much for making things tasty I just eat everything I have to, eat for fuel not for fun. These guys seem to have some good suggestions though.
