Hope you're feeling abit better today...

Thanks Girls
I miss you all :rainbow: I ended up leaving work after an hour (never should of went!) I drove myself straight to the ER. I had the worst stomach pains ever. It actually felt like I was in labor! I also couldnt stop vomitting. A nurse that I used to work with was on so she instantly gave me a shot of demerol and something for the nausea. W/in 10mins....the pain was back. She started a line and gave me morphine (ahhhh......what a beautiful drug!!) Pain subsided but still vomitting. After hours of them running tests ect...they admitted me. They gave me some huge thing to drink which ended up keeping me in the bathroom until midnight. How the heck can one person go the bathroom for like 5 hours straight....lol. Anywho, after a night on IV w/pain meds every 3 hours I felt so much better. They said it was gastroenteritis. Laymens term: BAD stomachache! I have to eat a very bland diet for the next week. I feel much better but my stomach hurts. Not the same kind of pain more like sore muscles (probably from throwing so much). So after 4-5 hellish days, Im down 12pounds and starting to feel like myself. Hope to hit the gym on saturday (even if I just walk the treadmill).
Thanks for checking in on me.......... you chicks are the BEST!!

Boston--nice to hear you are back and that miserableness is behind ya!! Sucks when you are going through it..hey 12 lbs lighter, huh?? NOT a great way to achieve it, but take what ya get, right?? I know, I know, I am bad...Really glad to know you are okay and will be back on track in the gym soon! Maybe the bland diet will get you used to eating really simple/ex. clean..could be a good thing...

WOO HOO!!! Just a quick note........ just got back from my first full workout since getting sick! I feel great! Off the pain killers and feeling fine :rainbow:
Its great to be back!

If I were to make one suggestion to the workout portion of this routine, it would be to drop the machines out totally. There's a pretty heavy reliance on them from what I'm seeing, and I think better results would come from freeweights.

Ok so yesterday was the worst day since I started to get my body back on track!!
Lets see..........day started with me barely able to drag myself outta bed. Nose all congested, sore throat, itchy eyes, cough and dead tired!!

Hmmmmmm.......hit DD for a coffee mmmm......w/regular cream and sugar. Oh very yummy but brought on major cravings. Went to work for a couple of hours then got 99's take out on the way home........why??, who knows just one of those moods. Ok, so potatoe skins and buffalo wings later...... stomach hurt but hell, why stop now. Had a piece of left over cake and a cup of milk. Dinner was left over pizza and salad w/full fat dressing. OK........totally binged out!! From 9am-9pm........I basically just ate. No workout at all. Oh, forgot one last thing. Around 8:30 Im in bed watching some movie and decided to get up and grab a bag of doritos!! UUGGGHHHH!! Ok, so that was my day yesterday :worried:

Boston-
Listen up, girl. Do not beat yourself up over the slip. We have all done it. I know I have, many times in the past. Key is just to say, F__ it, Let it go, that was the day. Not to let the day turn into the week, ect. You can do this. More importantly, how do you feel?? (the eyes, cough, ect.?) Sometimes, when I find myself getting sick, that is when I threw the diet out the window..I'm like, Shit I can't work out, so why eat clean? Key thing is not to do this.
Put that day behind you, B. You have many good ones to counter balance that...K?

I just read this whole log.
I love it!
Great work Boston!!!!!!
I am so impressed with the change in your lifestyle. You jumped right into the gym and eating clean and never looked back.
The part of about you and your daughter doing the step class together melted my heart. That is so sweet.
Keep up the great work! :)

Enjoy the weekend, its a beauty here! :rainbow:

Wow.....my journal suxs lately! Im going through major personal stuff right now and keeping up with my workouts has been tough enough. Im finding it impossible to log. I will try to do better though.

Workout are going good. Still going to the gym every morning. Going through stuff with the husband and am borderline depressed/elated over it. In a scary spot right now and trying to figure out what the hell to do.

Eating is ok. Not super clean/strick but not bad either. If anything Im not eating enough right now.

Tired of not being happy in my personal life and finally able to admit it. What to do.........what to do??!!

Anywho.......... miss everyone

Hey girl... I want you to read that you wrote...

"I am however, soooooooooo proud of myself for making and sticking to these major changes in my diet/training! Totally feel like a new person."

THAT is what you tell yourself every day, multiple times if you have to.

what ever is going on will work itself out, you need to stay focused, you need to stay positive, and you need to remember all the things you are thankful and grateful for in life.
The negative does NOT outweigh the positive even though it may seem like it...

I dont care if you have to be absurdly positive and happy and convince yourself you are, daily... do it.. to get through this, It WILL help.

BOSTON.   Ditto what Bunz said...I think, in some way, we have all done the battle with the emotional/personal stress and training--i.other words, how to really focus, channel that stress, that emotion into force for working out, instead of letting it consume you and deter you from doing so. Key is to positively reinforce how good it does finally feel when you do get there to train, eat right, and kick ass over a slumping feeling..when you beat the urge to crawl in bed and eat like shit cuz you feel horrible...Even a shitty workout can make you feel better just because you were THERE, you know??
I struggled for a long time, mentally and physically (with my weight) to train my mind to block shit out and just get to the gym...even if I was crying in the car on the way home..some days, I just sat in my car trying to get the drive to go inside..
Sorry, for the long post..what I mean to convey here is that I have been there, and I am here now..like everyone else..you logging on here is an effort in and of itself...everything will come around..The good is all around you..the bad is not all there is...Lots of love...

Thanks Mun,
You always seem to come along at the right time! I swear were old friends.....lol
You and Bunny always have great insight and it totally lifts my spirit :rainbow:
Im just gonna keep pressin on with my training/dieting and let everything else fall into place. Maybe we are just going through a rough patch or perhaps Im just ready to claim my life back.

Wow........wasnt expecting that :rainbow: I see a difference but I am VERY hard on my self so I need to make more changes before Im brave enough to post pics.

PM workout:
This is a killer but I have been helping my oldest with her training for camp so we hit a local football field for sprints. We sprint the lenght of the field then walk the endzone then repeat and call that 1 lap. We did 10 and I was about ready to die. Hot & Humid here so a double whammy. Typically I wouldnt do another cardio segment but she really needs me to do it with her. Maybe I should cut down on my AM cardio??. Now that I think back, I never would've thought I'd be able to do sprints w/a 16yr. old. I have come a loooong way and coming to this board and reading the logs helps so much. Its the push I need when Im feeling too tired and too cranky! The ladies on this board rock!

Tomorrow's gonna be a beautiful day  I can feel it!

Thursday 7-12-07

AM: Body Pump class
PM: Sprints (same as last night)

M1: 1 scoop protein from protein factory (cant remember the name, I just bought it last night) w/water and 3 frozen strawberries

M2: gala apple & 1/2 oz. almonds

M3: salad w/turkey, mushrooms, berries and 2tb. light walnut vinegarette dressing, 5 kashi crackers

M4: Syntrax protein (roadside lemonade: Very yummy!!) w/water

M5: 4 oz. chicken w/hotsauce, broccoli w/lemon, sm. yam

Weather was perfect today! Turned off the central air and opened all the windows. Daughter said that I looked better doing the sprints tonight. Hmmm....is that a compliment from a 16 yr. old! Tomorrow morning were taking a kickboxing class....woo hoo, cant wait. It looks tough but fun :)

Bumped into a fitness pro today (Heidi Fletcher). What a doll. We had a nice long conversation and were gonna hook up to train soon. She's built like a little powerhouse! She's a friend of a friend, thats how we met.

Im out of myoplex light and my local dealer doesnt carry it so I bought some other protein from him. I think its called riffle from protein factory. He said its good and i trust him. Im only using 1 scoop cuz the serving size on the container of 2.5 scoops is too much cals and carbs for me. Im happy to say that he didnt steer me wrong. It was pretty good.

Peace

Friday 7-13-07

AM: Kickboxing class
PM: Some crazy drill on the football field that my daughter usually does on the ice at practice. 30mins

M1: 1 scoop protein w/water, 1 can enviga
M2: gala apple, .5 oz almonds
M3: 4 oz. turkey on lettuce w/mushrooms, few strawberries & 2tb. light vinegarette dressing, 3 kashi crackers
M4: Syntrax protein w/water (strawberry/kiwi)
M5: 4 oz. beef, sm. yam, asparagus

Crazy fun at kickboxing this morning. Sweated something awful and really enjoyed the class.

Drills with my daughter were killer. Felt so energized after. Really felt strong!

The syntrax strawberry/kiwi is by far my favorite flavor. I ordered a tub of it online at wlssupplies.com I mix it with less water then it calls for and add more ice to make it thicker..........OMG...........YUM :p

Things are calmer on the home front. My girls keep me in check! Its hard to be angry with their smiling faces and they really keep me laughing. I soooo enjoy having three girls. Never a dull moment. Taking it one day at a time.

Might look into a new fatburner. I have been getting killer headaches lately. Could just be stress related or from the redlines. Im due for a new bottle so Im gonna check some different brands out.

Cut down from 3 diet sodas a day to 1 so Im very pleased with that. Trying to drink more water. Also, ditched my morning cup of coffee for a can of enviga. Check it out online....... it's really good stuff!! I get it at the local grocery store.

Happy Friday :rainbow:

Hey Boston! Good job! Nice work with the soda cutdown- for me, it usually makes me bloated, and actually thirstier! What fatburner do you use now?? I am using coffee and ephedrine in the morning..but I just fell in love with sugar free rockstar! It is freakin awesome! Let me know your ideas on the burner! Congrats with the workouts too-kickboxing is killer..Glad to see you are focusing on the good(your girls) around you..Much love.

Still pluggin through my workouts. Diet is up and down nothing consistent. Going through a seperation and one of my girls and having a really hard time with it. I miss logging and keeping up with the board but just dont have the time right now. When the dust settles, I will be back full force!

Maybe you can talk to her about what you are doing.
Start a log on paper.
It might give her something to focus on too.
Then you two can run together and talk.. essentially have some good one on one time that not only benefits the body but the body too.
Best of luck with everything!

I've been absent from the Women's Forum for far too long... thought I'd poke my head in here and see what's what... afterall the Women's training forum is what brought me to elite nearly SEVEN years ago.

I scanned through this thread and got the highlights.

Slat1's advice about involving your kids with your training is an EXCELLENT idea. Physical activity releases endorphines and helps you to feel better, not to mention all of the other health benefits. By you teaching your children how to cope with stress you will also help to feel more positive about your relationship w/them. This might help to counteract the negatives you may feel about your marriage breaking down.

I am very happy to hear that you have kept at it, even though your plate is full with life.

One question, how are you guaging your progress? The scale, a tape measure, how your clothing fits, how you feel or any combination?
