Jumped on one this evening (that Tantina or whatever) and it read 10.5%....this morning it was 9.5%.........how scewed do you think that is? Made me feel bloated and fat!!!!!!!!!

Haha you chunker, Think how I feel. Ive got a hand held one and it says 15.5%. It was saying I was 19.7% until I realised I had put in the wrong height.

Those things are not very good. I used to have the hand held one but it gave me a different reading every few hours. I talked to a tech rep and was told that it will have a different reading based on the amount of water in your system. He said because the machine works on resistance and your muscles have a lot of water in them bla bla bla you get the point. So I sent it back. I guess I just had higher hopes for something I paid 70 bucks on.

Anyway just my two bits

I was told never to use it after training (as you sweat and have less water in your body).

Anyway., Law of Common Sense tells me to use it:

Every morning, after peeing and taking a dump
Before any breakfast or liquid intake
about the same time
naked

That is, in that way you should see, at least, a weekly trend (don't take any particluar day reading too seriuosly) and never measure twice in a day (doesn't mean shit).

This is what I do.

I alsd learned yesterday from the Scientist guy, that since current travels the shortest path, it goes through your butt, where there is always a higher %age of fat.

You have to take the test under the same conditions if you want to chart your progress, mainly due to the hydration issue. First thing in the morning after you piss is a good standard. They are accurate in the sense they will give consistant results within the same session but unless you take precautions it can vary dramatically from session to session.

How far was it off Jkurz??

I bought the Tanita last month and the bf was WAY off everyday. I ended up returning it 1 week later. Get pinched at the gym, more accurate and you'll save time going crazy with the Tanita.
