Here is a poll to get an idea of what the masses are into on this board.

Personally... myself, I like BB as the flavour of choice, I know everyone has their own tastes, what do you like? And Why?

bodybuilder, i couldnt do strongman, no time right now. although i might consider it when im in my 20's

I train like a powerlifter/strongman, although I have never competed as either, and don't know if I ever will.

Since I started training like I am now, I can't imagine training any other way.

I'm primarily a bodybuilder, but part of the joy of bodybuilding is to gain strength as well. One day I might try the strong man aspect as I mature.

The vote here is going to be REALLY off. You should include POWERLIFTING... it might even things out.

I consider myself a strength athlete.

I want to be:
- big
- strong
- fast
- lean
- agile
- tough
- etc, etc!!!

all three........ i have trained powerlifting and now in getting ready to try a strongman/wsb style split (a la B Fold) for the sole pupose of getting me bigger and stronger for bodybuilding.

lol smurfy, me too. im a little chubby, but it doesnt bug me. im a bodybuilder cuz i train to build my body, that simple.

Most people spend their time trying to build a body that looks strong and bad as hell

I spend my time building a body that actually is

Everone has different goals. . . . therefore I respect powerlifters, bodybuilders, strength athletes, and etc.

The fact of the matter is that we are all striving for improvements, which requires guts and motivation.

I need to be strong :) I began as a bodybuilder working out of magazines, evolved to a sports specific athlete, and now into a strength junkie. I want to be as strong as possible and I train for strength. not my fault I'm still ripped :) lol

It wasn't my intention to knock BB's. I realized it may have sounded like that. Should have written it differently.

Well everyone's definition of "chubby" is different. I guess it depends on where you're coming from. To a male BBer, 10 or 12% could be considered "chubby". And to a PLer thats considerd very lean. I'm definitely no BBer or a Pler, but i look muscular and strong for a female when in actuality, wow am i weak as hell:(
p.s. why cant Bbers and Plers get along? LOL:mad: I admire both for their determination and discipline

I consider myself a strength athlete. I'm training for strongman, but I incorporate power lifting and O-lifting into my regular training program.

I desire to be functionally strong with explosive power as a nice side. As well as highly conditioned.

How about both? :) They aren't mutually exclusive.

I'm a bodybuilder, but I also consider myself a strength athlete. I absolutely love moving heavier weights for more reps.

Look strong *and* be strong, I say :)

I would say I am in the bodybuilding camp. I can appreciate the powerlifter 100% but I'm not in my 20's and infact working my way close to my 40's.

With bodybuilding I have more control to sculpt those weak areas. With powerlifting I would just be messing up my joints from previous years of injury. I like working on those areas of my physic that need improvement.

Through bodybuilding I can say I am stronger now then I was when I was younger and my focus was more on powerlifting, but I would attibute that to more disipline and watching my diet.
