Blood pressure tripping me out: Doc please

PotatoHead

Been taking my blood pressure a lot today with all kinds of results. The first time I checked it: 160/92 checked it several time dureing that session and got the same results. Checked it again in about an hour after I laided down to get calm, and it varied between 135-140/80-75. Then I sat up and took it again: varied between 145-150/85-90.

What the fuck is going on. Why does it vary so much???? I'll be starting my first cycle soon, so this is kinda worring me about starting it. Also, I know I took the readings right, and I know my blood pressure is actually changing as stated above.

try taking taurine...to lower it if that doesn't help...you will need to seek a Dr for some beta blockers!!!!

Thanks radar, I'll try a beta blocker. Could you recommend a product because I've never used a beta blocker sup.

Hello MikeyG, I'm not taking any supplements right now. I'm not in a cycle or post recovery. Just taking protien and eating good.

I suppose if I watch it close enough while on, I could just go to the emergency room if it gets too bad, then they'd give me the good shit....probably. I don't know, fuck. If I get to 160/92 while not even on...and at rest, I don't know how high it would climb while on. I'll probably just carry my BP kit with me to check it all the time...lol

Blood pressure can vary by upto thirty points within minutes so it is not uncommon to get such different results. What happens to a lot of people that take their own blood pressure is that they get a value that migh have been a little high, freak out, take it again to make sure but this time they are nervous, HR is up and therefore BP is up as well. Try to relax before you take your BP, and try to take it at the same time every day for a few days to get a better picture. Also might wanna take it three times and calculate the average of your three measurements.

As far a beta blockers, they are not supplements, they are drugs. Some brand names include atenolol, propranolol, etc.... I dont think you should jump on beta blockers just yet because your values when you took it calm were really not too high and can probably be corrected through diet, supps (fish oil, flax, etc..). If it does happen to stay at the 160/90 range, then I would reccomend seeing your Dr about drugs...

Good luck and dont stress, it will just make the BP worse.

BTW, Im not an MD but almost a Pharm D (doctor in pharmacy). I have had a lot of exposure to hypertension and treatment of hptn in my schooling.

Thanks bro

:)

You comments would explain the large varience in my BP. I'm not feeling so shitty about it now. I'm going to try cutting as much sodium as I can. Also, I don't do much cardio, so I'm going to work cardio into my workout. If I end up having to take a drug anyways, do you know of a drug that will not screw with my AAS? If I have to ask my doc for a BP med, I'd be good to know what's out there for AAS folks, if any.

Thanks Again Bro...appreciate the support!

I believe a good diet along with taurine & cardio will give you the benefits you need...beta blockers are prescription meds like corgard. try the above first & as always try to check the bp at the same time every day.Using any type of AAS will elevate your blood pressure...so its a good idea to get it in check before starting any kind of cycle!
