Big Blast is it really worth the money?

So I seen a couple of people praising Big Blast. But is it worth the money? I paid $32.00 and barley got a week out of this bag.
 
orbitnutrition.com sells it for 26 bucks for a 2lb container thats prob best deal there is out there
 
Yes we have it at orbit for cheaper plus free shipping on orders over $75. I would say make this a special protein. One u take at key times of the day to get the most out of it.
 
If you're just looking to get some extra protein in a shake, then you can buy something that's a few bucks less. But if you're committed to getting the most you can from what is essentially a "super-food", then BIG BLAST will give gains like nothing else.

Exactly, u have to be committed to getting the most out of ur workouts. I will def be using this post workout on my killer days.

i dont find its taste to be bad. i dont enjoy it to much but its not bad. if you want to flavor it up throw in a scoop of whey to build muscle or even a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

or of course you could say screw quality and just go buy some muscle milk. i have yet to meat a person who didnt like the taste of that.
 
i had a tub of vanilla awhile back.

tasted pretty good imo.

supposedly some of the best protein out, that and original Ergos GF Pro when it was out.

Gear is what i use now.
 
I'm lovin gthe BIG BLAST fruit punch with frozen beeries smoothie but I may be doing a mini bulker soon. (Been cuting and overshot a little). That means BIG BLAST chocolate with whole milk, a spoonful of cocoa and a scoop of the new Hazan Daz dark chocolate ice cream. That's SICK.

And as good as an excuse as any to say I'm "bulking." :D

As gar as nutritious value, anytime. However, depending on your goals, you gotta be aware that it contains around 30 grams of carbs, from which 20 are sugar. If you're sensible to carbs and trying to cut, you have to determine what time is better for you depending on how your carbon unit process nutrients.

Then use it after workout. Now if you could stack it with need2slin, would be ideal. Pop one need2slin at the gym, right after your last set, then head home, and get a dose of bigblast. Need2slin will take care of those carbs for muscle fuel.


If not, the other option is to use 2 scoops of bigblast instead of the 3 recommended. 3 is about 45 grams of protein. 2 would be around 30, which is still plenty for a meal, and perfectly absorbed by the body. And that will give you lower carbs, enough to replenish what you burnt as energy.

so if big blast is perfect for after workouts which is the best protein (other than solid foods) to take during the day? just a basic whey protein? I used to take pro mass, not sure if you know it, but it started to make me a bit porky lol
 
Yes your typical whey is just fine. Pro mass is full of fats and sugars which is why fat gets put on.

Yer I was impressed at first because I was putting weight on but then realised that the majority was just fat. I think it contains alot of maltodextrin which is confusing me beacuse I read somewhere that it is absorbed as fast as glucose which I assume is a bad thing? But also ive read that its a polymer of glucose molecules thats absorbed slowly like starch? Bit confusing :confused: Can anyone enlighten me please lol? Btw sorry for going off the topic of big blast lol

For extra low cal protein throughout the day, get a good basic whey like Needto's WHEY TO BUILD MUSCLE.

And of course, for the very best protein in between meals, use GEAR.

Awesome, thanks for the help. So if I was bulking, which I will be soon, could I just throw in some oats with needto's whey to give me some extra carbs and cals? Or is there another product you would suggest for weight gain thats already combined?
 
for an any time protein shake id use whey isolate.

right now i have a shake a few times per day in my quest or more size and have been drinking this
n2bm vanilla nut whey mixed with milk, oats, eggs, and mixed berries. this way it tastes great and its mostly whole foods.

Skim or whole milk joe? And how many eggs? I think i will start doing this.

Personally, I don't see the point of adding fillers to a protein shake for extra cals. Just eat more! If you like oats in a shake, go for it. But I think it makes it too thick and filling.

Joe is going old school with the eggs! Whole eggs are natures best muscle building food. The problem is the risk of raw eggs. This is why BIG BLAST contains WHOLE EGG.

the idea of putting eggs berries and oats into a regular whey shake is to add the esentials of a meal. also the mix of proteins. its not really needed but it works. if your already eating 6 meals per day and you want to go on cycle and gain some mass it would be simple to throw these shakes in between the meals for the added food.

Actually, I've added raw eggs to shakes with no problems but I can't advise it.

However, if you want to pack on some pounds quickly, try adding 2 raw eggs to vanilla BIG BLAST with whole milk a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It tastes awesome and it's a ton of calories. You'll grow! That's what the old timers did with the Blair protein (which was a whole egg and milk based protein -- the best at the time). With BIG BLAST it's that much better.

Thanks man, some really good advice, and thanks to you too joe d also brilliant advice. So basically concentrate on whole foods if possible and chuck in the shakes when I really want to bulk up apart from post training when I should be using big blast. Im just trying to work out how my diet is going to be once i finish my college course. I've had to put the gym on hold for a while until i sort my education out lol. Figured its worth sacrificing the gym for a few months so I can go to uni and get a good job or Ill never be able to afford all the food n supps lol. So anyway thanks alot guys :rainbow:

How good would Super Plasma Protein alone be?

I'm on the go a lot and looking for a superior protein to make up for a real meal? This stuff looks like it may be it.

SPP is great alone but it's very bland tasting and you'd have to flavor it. It would not be cost effective to use as the sole source of protein, nor would it mix well without the other ingredients. And if you're trying to gain, why not get the creatine and whole egg in BIG BLAST along with it? A better option would be to add GEAR, which is made from SPP as well.
 
There isn't a lot of carbs in Big Blast.

SPP seems like a great product - How does that compare to regular protein? If you should only take in 20 grams or so of SPP a day but if we need 1.5 to 2 grams per lb of bodyweight to gain?

It wouldn't be practical to get your total protein intake from SPP. If you've ever used injectable protein, the results are very similar. Whatever you take in goes a longer way. So yeah, with SPP you can eat a little less protein or just use the SPP for extra insurance. In that regard GEAR is also excellent.

i always eat 10 meals per day but right now i am working on gaining a little more weight so i added 6 more in the form of shakes between the meals.

spp tastes like hell even with a lot of flavoring. i mix a ew spoons with applesauce and swallow it sometimes.

if you want to use it i would suggest putting a tablespoon of spp into a whey isolate shake.
 
What's injectable protein and where do you get it?

good luck finding it. i used to be able to get the vet stuff but i havent been able to for a while. gear is pretty good as a sub for it but its not as good.

Orbit sells BIG BLAST for $25 bucks which is like a dollar a pound more than some basic whey stuff.

The closest thing to BIG BLAST is Monster Milk, which costs 8 dollars MORE!

Ordered 10 lbs from Orbit the other day. The same 10lbs from Protein Factory would have cost $170 with shipping. This cost me about $120 through Orbit. Thats insane. I could have got 14 lbs through Orbit for the price of 10 at PF
