A study I recal reading showed that exercising 2/3 or 10/11 hours after waking is the optimum time. This is due to the time it takes for the tendons etc to reach optimum flexibilty and strength and testosterone to peak.
Morning workouts may not be as effective since the muscle glycogen stores would be reduced. So working out straight after waking is not really efficient.
