best mass gaining program for a hardgainer

hi, i've been informed that 5x5 is good for gaining mass, but then others have said its more of a powerlifter program. i'm in this mainly to look good, and might want to go with a bodybuilders routine. i also have a crazy metabolism. i've been working out with a 5 day split and eating a ton, but realized i'm probably working out too much (1.5 hour workouts M-F) and burning too many calories to gain weight. What program would you recommend? i think i would like to switch to 3 days a week to give myself more time to grow.
 
Hey bro could you provide stats plz? Age, weight, height, cals per day? protein per day? etc?
 
i'd still say go with a 5x5 routine-madcows, SL, watever. Size comes with strength. That with a solid diet, good rest, and you should be seeing results.

thats way too much imo. He doesnt need that much proteins if hes only 155lbs. And he doesnt need 5k cals either unless he is extremly active or unless he works full time at a very physically demanding job on top of his workouts.

I would say 4k cals max and around 250 grams of proteins would be perfect

just my honest opinion though

This is true. Although it doesn't hurt to eat more. But this is the minimum imo.

so you think that eating 4K cals is not enough for a guy weighing 155lbs? I honestly never saw a guy weighing that much eating over 5K calories. Its probablyaround 2.5K cals over his maintenance if not more.

my logic isnt wrrong at all. im stating that the more you eat the bigger you get, i didnt state that hed get fat or not. Its a simple concept.

Well then you basically just stated the obvious which i doubt really helped him. I was just disagreeing with your advice of 400 grams of protein for a guy weighing 155lbs. Alot of that will not be used by the body and you will simply piss and shit it out.

Like i said its just my opinion though and everyone's body is different

Lean meat,large portions.....chicken breast,turkey breast,lean steak,fish

I was taking in 250g of protein a day when I was cutting no problem and I'm only 170lbs...now that i will be bulkiing ill be getting in around 350g a day

80% of the world are "Hard Gainers". I've also never met anyone who is 155 lbs that actually ate 3,000 calories a day...every single day either.
 
So OP what are YOUR thoughts on all of this so far?

Are you taking shakes? if so how many? Include the grams per scoup if you could...
What do you eat for your meals if you have control of your choices that is.
 
to the OP you need to take in more cals. you need to start to make all your meals a bit bigger and you need to start adding snacks and then make the snacks bigger and bigger until they are just small meals.

one of the easiest ways to get in good cals that will help you grow is to start drinking milk. lots of milk. look up "GOMAD" gallon of milk a day.

there are a hundred ways to GUESS how many cals you will need but regardless just pick one and then adjust from there. id aim for 5k. you wont get there over night and it will take time for your body to adjust and start using all those cals just give it time and work hard to get in 5k.

also 400g of protein is not needed but it will help. it will basically force you to stay anabolic and ensure you will always have enough protein to add muscle.

start a log take pics of everything you eat/drink. it will help!
