What kind of split are you doing?
I do WSB, and I've done front squats on dynamic effort SQ/DL days. I've scheduled them as a 2nd move on a few maximum effort SQ/DL days, but haven't done them "heavy" yet, so we'll see! (The bar alone is so heavy with a clean grip, it's going to be quite the experiment).
I don't do quads every week, more like 1/2 of the weeks that I train - 1 move every week for 3 weeks, then none for 2 weeks, etc.
Personally, when I do quads (front squat or step-ups), it is when the other main move is primarily a ham/erectors move (like gms or dls) that doesn't tax the knees like a squat. I won't do two kinds of squat on one day b/c I have crunchy knees.
