bench test day

After eight weeks of dedicated westside training, I got 295 today touch and go. That's up 60 lbs in less than two months. I've also put on about 15 lbs of muscle just eating right and often -- and probably because I started training legs too.

I've also maxed out on squat and DL recently. I got a 315 below parallel squat and a 295 DL. My weight is 151 lbs and I'd have about a 900 lb total. it's not great but it's a start and that squat and DL should go up fast if I ever find a gym with a power rack. Thanks for everybody helping me out and getting me started on this board.

Great job man...please keep us posted.

DOM, what exactly did you do to get your bench up?

i am 16 and can do 220x3 i never tried my 1rep max

will i be able to hit 300 for one rep in 8 weeks?

fill me in man :D

Wizkid, try reading the articles on www.elitefts.com about periodization and bench press and that's basically the program I used.

As for hitting 300, it is possible in 8 weeks, but probably not realistic. Hell when I was 16 I just wished I could bench 300 someday in my life. My advice to you is to just keep getting into the gym and then you'll easily reach your goals.

The key is to dedicate yourself to good training, a high protein diet, and a healthy lifestyle. That can be hard to do especially in high school and college. Anyway, make sure to read those articles if you haven't yet.
