Beijing Get Olympics...bullshit!!!!

Bootyshaker

New member
They should not have won. Toronto is the most diversified place in the world. How can you not give it to Toronto?

I hope all the Travellers enjoy Teddy Bears made out of real fur and dog and cat for dinner!!!

Bootyshaker

It's bullshit, why not give it to the best place to luve according to the whole damn world, where we have diversity (how many non-gooks do ya see in China). The olympics are based on this, fuck I'm mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Forget the Olympics, I think it is amazing that the United States was booted off the U.N.'s Human Rights group while China, Cuba, and Sudan remain on it.

Politics are so currupt, I should have been a politician, do whatever I want and not have to be resposible for your actions.

Sometimes I read something in the paper and I just say"WHAT THE FUCK!!!!"

Bootyshaker

Good fo them. It's about time the Western world start letting China out of its "cage". This is a surefire way to help promote more freedoms in China.

WeaponX, you're kidding me right? The US doesn't have a very good human rights record at all. We have more people in captivity than any other civilized nation in the world. :fro:

chicken balls??

~WizKid :kaioken:

Breaded chicken balls(there not actually made from chicken balls) have been known to contain cat instead of chicken.

A well known chinese restauraunt here in toronto called "mandarin" which would be classified as a reputable place to eat. Has been caught with many"disgusting" acts. The most recent I can remember was having racoons hung up in the basement.

everyone knew they were get'n it...

Ya it was pretty much locked. But that doesn't mean I have to like it.

I have never been too much of a political guy. But some of the stuff that was brought to my attention was horrible?

How much are they going to pay the poor workers to build all thos fancy buildings for the olimpics?

Weaponx, I thought you were a gung-ho right wing kinda guy. What's wrong with executions? Texas is doing a fine job of that. I'm not against executions based on circumstances. I'm sure some of the executed may have been innocent, just like here in the US. You don't live in China so what are you worried about? I'm surprised you're not cheering them on.

Again, the liberals break out the labelling and the slanders.
I am not against the death penalty, but I hardly think the article I posted a link to refers to any due process of law.
Now, can we discuss issues without name-calling?

I disagree. I see it as just another way for the installed regime to say "look what 'our way' gave you: the Olympic games.

while it will help to expose the citizenry of China to the ways of the rest of the world, it is certain that Olympic promotions in China (posters, advertising, etc) will be covered with the faces of Jiang Zemin and other leaders.

In the long run I don't think it helps that much, other than an economic shot in the arm.

I agree totally!Very smart observation!

Funy how your mind expands when you really look at the issues instead of toeing the party line.
How many economic "shots in the arm" should we give the murderous COmmunist regime? The fucks still have Most Favoured Nation Status.
And Clinton gave them most of our Defense Secrets...

Bump this shit up. . . . and Bootyshaker, I can't believe what you just said about Mandarin.

I used to eat there all the time before I moved away :(

That shit is fucked up

The Doc

I completely agree with that choice... Its a way to promote the respect for human rights and freedoms in China, which has one fifth of the total human population in the world... And its about time we don´t see China as a threat but as a partner...

After what the Chinese did to the Tibetan people and its own people in Tienemen square, they should have never gotten the Olympics.

Further, they will continue to take advantage of us, now that they know our President is an idiot.

Apparently, the Appointed President is the laughing stock in all of Asia (not just Europe).

BeardedClam said:
screw tibet. also this was not bush's decision. you take every single thing and blame it on bush or the republicans when it has nothing to do with them. you really dont know anything except to blame the people you dont like. thats a democrat trait. blame the rich and republicans for every thing you dont like.

Democrats are a bunch of whinning pussies...

By his own sick reasioning, that must mean that he's a Conservativaphobe! People like that are usually closeted Republicans.

China is such a shit hole that all our olympic athletes will need gas masks to compete. Did anyone see the new satalite pictures that show Asia has 7/8 of all the worlds pollution and alot of our storms and shit like that come from the shit that they put in the air. It all comes from them and moves over the west (fuckers)

canada has gotten the shaft for thr olympics.. i think toronto would hve been an excellent place.., oh well i hope vancouver gets the 2010 winter olympics

ok....i dont think they should ashve got it BUT....

hopefully it will give the citizens of china a chance to see what the rest of the workd is up front, and shiow them that not everyone that is from outside their country/desert is hell bent on kiling all chinese people.

i would ahve liked to see toronto get it. i also think its been in the north america's too damn much. give europe a shot (NOT PARIS), or maybe africa.

on a more disturbing note, u know whe the chinese execute someone 'un-officially'....they ask what organs are needed and say if someone says a heart they shoot the dude in the head, or if a kidney in the head, or an eye and in the stomach. the genral that ordered the hit pockets the change

this is where th olympics r going.

the reason they wanna send em there is all the sponsors get to stick there adverts in the last untamed market....this is just an excuse to get billboards every square mile

RyanH, do you think that the United States should have been allowed to hold the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, after the FBI massacred Davidian cult members at Waco?

hardgainer (just a sincere question)

Absolute Hardgainer---

The distinguishing mark between China and the United States is that the U.S. has not systematically committed human rights violations. Tienemen Square is not my greatest complaint towards the Chinese----what they did to the peace loving Tibetan people is..........

There have been many many human rights violations committed by the Chinese.....Tienemen Square was just one of few.....

In London, the human rights group Amnesty International said China now faces the serious challenge of proving itself worthy of staging the games.
"Ironically, sports stadiums were the last places where many of those condemned to death were taken, to be subjected to ritual public humiliation in front of large crowds, just before being executed," the organization said in a statement.
The Dalai Lama's Tibetan government in exile said from its base in India that the decision would only encourage repression in China.

I don't see a Chinese in this discussion so let me be the first one to have the pleasure....

My humble views -

The Olympic Games as a whole is just one big commercial engine, so let's look at it from that perspective... sports, competition, cultural exchange, unity of races are still the core elements no doubt about it, but we must not forget it has evolved from nude athletes competing to star athletes wearing Nike! No problem with that.. this is it in our present life.

But for organisations and countries to work the Olympics as political machines, as propaganda engine... they should realize people are more intelligent than that....

Has anyone of you been to China? I'm a Hong Kong Chinese so ask me things you've always wanted to know but.... I will definitely give less biased views than CNN :)

Oh yeah in some rural places in mainland China, people eat dogs and cats... real delicacies! But that doesn't mean people are barbaric.... hey that's a recipe handed down from generations.... mind you China is one of the four ancient civilisations.

Having said that... I don't eat dog... hehehe... and in HK, it's illegal!

China is a huge country. A lot of people do not have a whole lot of connections with the outside world. But this is not unique to China. It's the same in the US, in Canada, in Australia, in the UK. And in the same context, there are many well-connected, well-educated, well-travelled Chinese...

Hong Kong is a world class city on par with London, NYC, Tokyo. If none of you know this... Shanghai will become one too in less than 5 years!!

Hope we can keep this discussion alive!

whats your point dim sum? china is a piece of shit and shouldnt benefit from the olympics. if someone else wants it then china shouldnt get it. first the chinese need to learn how to fly their fighter jets and not to fuck with america. then they need to stop eating so much rice.

Oh by the way, get your facts right

China Paper Sacks Organ Trade Reporter - Group
BEIJING (Reuters) - A newspaper in the southeastern province of Jiangxi has sacked a senior reporter whose article on organ harvesting in China riled Beijing, a human rights group said on Thursday.

The Hong Kong-based Information Center on Human Rights and Democracy said Yao Xiaohong, news director at the Jiangxi Metropolitan Consumer News, was fired for writing about a local court's alleged plot to sell the kidneys of an executed prisoner.

An editor at the paper, based in the city of Nanchang, told Reuters Yao left the newspaper a month ago because one of his stories had ``violated editorial rules.''

The editor said the reasons for Yao's departure were ''sensitive'' and declined to give details.

Yao's story -- one of a series of reports on the problem to leak out of China in recent years -- was published in April and subsequently appeared on the Web site of the Communist Party mouthpiece, the People's Daily.

In June, a Chinese doctor living in the United States told the House of Representatives subcommittee on human rights he removed skin and corneas from the corpses of more than 100 executed people, including ``victims of intentionally botched executions.''

The Chinese Foreign Ministry lashed back, saying the doctor had fabricated ``a vicious slander'' and ``sensational lies'' for his own personal benefit.

Yao was now working at a newspaper in Guangzhou, the rights group said.

MEDIA CRACKDOWN

His dismissal is the latest evidence of one of China's broadest media crackdowns in recent years.

Last month, a Communist Party document circulating among publications around the country threatened newspapers and magazines with instant closure if they stepped out of line, news industry sources said.

In many cases, newspapers have summarily fired editors in order to appease propaganda chiefs and avoid being shut down, they said.

In June, a deputy editor-in-chief of a newspaper in Henan province, the Dahebao, was fired for reports the paper carried about corruption.

In May, at least two senior editors at the Guangzhou-based Southern Weekend were forced out over stories that suggested a gang leader executed for mass murder was the product of a deep social malaise.

The rights group also said on Thursday that Southern Weekend's readers' Web site -- a high-traffic intersection for exchange of information on social problems -- had been shut down.

An editor at the newspaper confirmed the readers' Web site had been closed recently but offered no details.

Officials and editors link the new hard line to political sensitivities ahead of the 16th Communist Party Congress late next year at which many of the party's top leaders, including General Secretary Jiang Zemin, are expected to step down.

Analysts say it is also part of a broader Communist Party effort to reassert control over a media industry being torn by commercial pressures as China moves toward a market economy.

At least 1,781 people have been executed in China in a "frenzy" of state-sanctioned killings over the past three months, Amnesty International said yesterday.

About 2,690 death sentences have been handed down in the course of a "Strike Hard" against crime campaign by the Government, the rights group said.

"More people were executed in China in the last three months than in the rest of the world for the last three years," said Amnesty, which monitors the death penalty around the world.

Diplomats in Beijing monitoring local reports estimated that about 1,300 people had been executed since the campaign began. But both diplomats and Amnesty suggest the real toll may be much higher.

The Government does not release details of the number of executions, which is regarded as a state secret. But increasingly the domestic media reports the implementation of the death penalty around the country.
