Vote for what do you think is the best carb source (must be predominantly carbs), that can be used for (clean) bulking and cutting.

I have suggested 10 options (i have excluded low calorie carbs such as brocolli, because they will not assist builking apart in terms of supplying carbs. All options are the unprocessed variety

(1) Oatmeal

(2) Oatbran

(3) Barley

(4) Wheat

(5) Sweet potatoe/yams

(6) Corn on the cob

(7) Beans (e.g., Kidney, Lima) excluding Soy Beans

(8) Brown Rice

(9) Basatimi rice

(10) white potatoes

(11) Skim milk

(12) Other (please spcify)

I voted for sweet potatoe - most nutritious vitamin and mineral wise, and it should be recalled that the GI of oatmeal is in a sense lowered by its its fat and protein content (about 10% each) (similarly, GI for beans lowered by protein content).

If you added that amount of good fat and protein to the sweet potatoe, I'm sure its GI would be far lower than oatmeal

(Note, i recognise that some varieties of beans are the slowest releasing carbs up there, but you cannot really consume them in extreme bulk without extreme flatulence).

I voted for oats mainly due to the fact I hate sweet potatoes with a passion. Just curious - what do you guys put on your sweet potatoe? I've used low carb bbq sauce and assorted mrs dash's in the past, but it still doesn't seem to get good tasting enough to take over oats for me

So you eat 100 grams of cinnimon per day to get your carbs? (Also, cinnimon is high in both iron and calcium, and these tend to block the absorption of each other)

Walden Farms fruit spreads or caramel dip
Cinnamon
Chopped garlic & veggie broth mixed into the pulp like a mash

I voted 100% steel cut rolled oats. Put a little cinnamon in there...mmmm...haven't had that in a while. Think I'll have it tomorrow.

I like oatmeal. Everyone is concerned about their blood pressure and cholesterol when running a cycle, and oatmeal is loaded with fiber and that helps lower each. I like mine with a little cinnimon and on occasion a little splenda.

I love sweet potatoes as well. I use a little cinnimon on those and sometimes some heart smart butter. Very tastey. I also like to cut them in the shape of french fries and bake them in an oven. Then you just eat them plain and they are mighty tastey.

Beans are a grood source of protein and fiber as well. But with all the protein I am already eating, my ass is already like the 4th of July, so i try to stear away from beans so i don't hurt anyone with my fumes.

I love cooking brown rice in a low sodium or homemade chicken stock. Absolutely tastes 1000% better than cooking it in water.

Fuck, I like all them carbs you listed above!!!!

Hello, i've had to decrease my rice portions considerably, in fact, today i ate 2/3 cup of boiled rice and i already feel bloated. Because i only eat 1/2 cup of boiled rice which is ok for me, but anymore than that makes me feel too bloated

ummm. . .butter. . .and a little salt. . .no wonder you hate sweet potatoes. . .bbq sauce?? wtf??!!

Oatmeal. Good for breakfast, all the carbs get burned off, and it digests slower so that you don't get hungry as quickly afterwards.

Oatmeal BRO---------

Why no love for oat bran?

Same taste, much more fibre, protein, vitamins/minerals, and lower net carbs less cals per 100 grams. Great for filling you up whilst cutting.

It's a tie between oatmeal and sweet potatoes. Both are voted by ronnie coleman and jay cutler as among the best carb loading sources readily and easily available.

I love the taste of sweet potatoes - use to hate them but now theyre my guilty pleasure.

I HATE sweet potatoes. I force myself to eat them becuase they should be in every bodybuilder's diet.

I cut the sweet potato into "coins", a little bit of extra virgin olive oil & and some garlic salt, in the oven on 200dc for 20 mins! Awesome...

Where's the ice cream option? My vote is oatmeal, because its slow release, tastes great and is very filling for the calories consumed, also got all that fibre in there... My other sources of carbs would be wholewheat pasta, brown rice or wholewheat pittas, lucozade sport post workout, with ice cream or popcorn on cheat days... I havent found a way to make sweet potatoes taste good enough for me not to want to be sick afer eating them so they don't feature in my diet at all...

I eat whole yams or sweet potatoes peeling n all lol i think it tastes great. Sometimes i substitute with Okinawan potatoes. Oatmeal, even plain, will make me feel bloated so i tend to eat it in small amounts. Beans are good too!

Sweet potatoes hands down for me. I love the way they taste right out of the oven. They don't need anything except maybe a little butter, but they taste great without on their own.

I just can't do plain oats myself. I gave to at least add cinnamon and Splenda to make it even tolerable.
