Bad Wrists.......help!

so my wrists suck ass.
some exercises i cant take much weight because my wrists pop, or get irritated. its a sports related injury.

i've tried straps, but i find that they limit my ability to get a grip and isolate properly

any advice?
 
You don't need direct forearm work for them to get stronger.

Holding (and pulling) heavy weights will do fine... and regarding pressing movements... try to keep your wrists as straight as possible.

Mine bother me too... I hear ya... just tweak your wrist alignment when holding weights.

Wrist curls (forarms) make my wrists pop and crack like no other... I wouldn't reccomend them if ur wrists are the same way (sounds like it).
 
Wrist curls are good aslong as you don't overdo it, maybe a couple of sets once a week. Alot of oly lifters do wrist curls, Anykind of pulling movement will build forearm and wrist strength.
 
wear wrist wraps on pressing movements and wear them correctly. remember a wrist wrap is meant to immobilize wrist movement, meaning it doesn't move. so wrap the wrap over the bottom part of the palm of your hand when you wrap it and make sure it covers the whole wrist area. you shouldn't be able to move your wrist if you've done it correctly. not doing so will continue to aggravate the injury and hinder it from healing
