Back/biceps

New member
It seemed that whenever I do back by the time at get to biceps I am exhausted so I decided to bi's on a separate day--my back routine is:

Deadlifts
Lat pulldowns
Seated rows
one arm db rows

for Bi's I do:

db Curls
hammer curls
bb curls
wrist curls

It doesn't seem like alot but it seems that my arms are exhausted and I can't lift heavy for my bi's.

Any suggestions on this workout or should I still split the days?

First of all, you do a lot of exercises. I say do them on the same day because by the time you finish back, your biceps have already been partially worked. I do two exercises for back:

Lat width (either pulldowns, pullovers, or chins)
Back thickness (1 rowing movement)

2 sets each to suffering failure. Then I change the exercises every four weeks to cover all the angles and keep the variety.

For biceps, I do a mass exercise (2 sets), then a finishing exercise (conc curl, hammer curl) for 1 set

Then rest for a week........thank God:fro:

your back consists of the largest collectrion of muscles on your body. Also, a strong back is the cornerstone of almost all lifts. Because of this, back needs and can handle much wieght and several different movements in one workout. If your bis are taxed after back try doing triceps. This is what I do. I dont believe in pre fatiguing any muscle group. There is no need unless you have an injury. Good luck

I personally do not do deads, however If I did I would place them w/ back and replace seated rows w/ bent over barbell.

I believe in prioritizing. Focus on your back bro. Even if you can't get bis in anywhere, don't sweat it...they'll grow if you're training the rest of your body correctly.

An option is to give yourself an arm day. A day where your bis and tris will be fresh and you can hit them both with heavy weight. Make it short and brutal.
