Back and shoulder acne

get Nizorol shampoo. It has ketoconozole in it, rub in on dry, over the area 5 to 10 mins before you shower. mostly when on the juice although they look like zits they are actually a fungus. - something called pitiosporum foliculitis - little infections in the hair foliculs. if you arent breaking out on your face - this might be what it is. if you have access to a dermotologist go and have them take a look. if not try this.. later broski.

After your done showering turn the water to bitter cold and cover yourself with cold ass water for a min or two....closed all the pores and keeps the breakouts down.....works for me.

god my first cycle i had acne soo bad i almost cried.. try b5, soap with benzol peroxide, tanning, change your shirt couple times a day, keep bed linens clean, and shower several times a day... the b5 will really help.. load up on it for a week and then take a maintence dose.. it worked miracles for me

^^^ some good stuff above, i'm just going to add some...

1st: Consider your hygyne: Shower am and pm (especially after working out)... invest in a back scrubing brush (with a long handle for all the hard to reach places)... and loufa/wash cloth for body ... squirt some Clearasil on that brush, ect. Change your bed sheets once a week (not once a month)... eat cleaner foods... take sugar out of your diet... I can't think of anything else. Those are all things to consider before looking into persciption topical and/or oral antibiotics.

Agreed with tanning as well... don't burn yourself though, burning is never good. Kaz has a good tip about after scrubbing in a hot shower to let the cold run for a few before you hop out.

2nd: Explore oral antibiotics if ^^ doesn't do the trick in a few weeks.

Tanning in a tanning bed about twice a week will help keep your skin dry and prevent break outs. As soon as my tanning package ran out while I was on my last cycle I began breaking out like crazy. I went and got another package and 2 visits later I was dry and clear as can be. :coffee:

Thanks tons guys it sucks having a hard body and not being able to show it off without a shirt.
Best site ever, best guys ever!
K to all!

Here's my take on this,

As and adult acne sufferer (mild acne about every 2 weeks - a breakout consisting anywhere from 3-15 on my face - then cleared up for 2 weeks and repeated), I decided to see a dermatologist for this. At first, I was leary about using accutane since it has been hyped as such a bad drug, I decided to go with the acids (differing), topical antibiotic and also switching from minocycline (oral antibiotic) to doxycycline (another oral but stronger). My acne still stayed about the same, while off cycle. I had zits on my face and I started breaking out on my back since I started gear a year previously.

Anyhow, the toicals and orals just didn't do the trick, and yes, I have been off for about 6 months now. It seems that when you use steroids, it actually exasperates the original condition, which is why I brought up the fact that I was breaking out on my back now.

I came back to my derm, admitted that I should have started out with what he recommended, accutane. He put me on 60mgs of accutane a day. 1 in the morning at 30mgs, 1 at night at 30mgs. After 2 months, my liver values were excellent, my cholesterol values were outstanding, I developed what is commonly called, "the accutane rash" on my forearms. Derms look for this because it tells them that the accutane is at a sufficient level to start the change of the skin pores and derm layers. I asked if I could push it to 80 a day, because I don't want this condition to ever come back. So I did. And I didn't break out for the next 3 months. The dryness sucks, but with the right lotion (vaseline intensive lotion - white bottle blue cap) and a lot of lip balm and fake tears, I overcame that pretty nicely.

My dermatologist told me that what happens is that your oil glands are larger than normal and they continue to pump more oil out. Another problem with acne sufferers is the tube leading from the oil gland to the top layer of the skin is in a wavy s shape and what accutane actually does is straightens that tube out and physically shrinks the oil glands throughout your body. My other doctor, who knows that I juice, told me that when you are on juice, the juice tends to cause those glands to over produce oil, which will give you the horrible breakouts and nothing, b5 - topicals, anything , will stop it until either you change the glands physically or stop juicing.

I actually ran a short 5 weeker during the middle of my accutane cycle. I didn't break out once! After I finished taking accutane, it's still active in your body for the next 30-60 days, I started a small 6 weeker of test, which normally, test makes me break out SUPER bad, I had 2 zits the whole time.

The reason behind my experience, is that I just want to save a lot of bros money, time and frustration from trying all the normal ways to alleviate acne (which would work on the normal NON JUICING individual), and go see a derm and get the accutane and clear it up once and for all or buy your accutane from a research lab. Accutane is expensive, don't get me wrong, but your ins. will cover it , but either way, it's the best medicine for the money, because to this day, I'm acne free after running 2 short cycles.

And, even if you run a larger cycle, you will still break out, but a zit here or zit there is nothing compaired to the normal effects from juiciing. I also found that after you run a 6 month cycle, it fixes the problem. And if the problem reoccurs during a cycle, it's not as bad, as I just said, but you can run 20mgs of accutane prolly e0d around week 5 of your cycle to the end.

just my .02

I am curious does bacne have anything or has anyone seen or heard of a correlation between where you inject verses acne. First time I ever juiced (of course I was very young so this could have easily been part of it if not all of it) But I injected in the delts and I got bacne pretty bad. Now I am injecting in me glutes and nada but just very mild acne (a little more than usual which is pretty much nothing) Just a curiosity question?????

Rx for Rosolla wash... (not sure of the spelling) but it helped me. Anti-bio also work but take a while to get into your sys. Sal-Ac wash will also help a bit but it wll dry the hell out of you. It's an OTC product.

Always wondered about Proactive.

Well don't - unless you're going to buy your own. I started using my wifes on my legs (I get tiny pimples on my upper quads in the summer) and it worked - till she ran out and was wondering WTF...funny stuff

Any tips on keeping a lid on breakouts?
I thought people used to take a low dose antibiotic when "on" to keep things in check....
Thanks guys

tanning is a big plus but there is a soap called LAVA soap it used when you have posion IVY iT works really good on drying out the areas that break out the most like shoulders and arms and also VIT -E also helps with the break outs

I had acne really bad on my back. Have your girl scrub the crap out of your back with a loofa or face cloth. then have her rub your back with alcohol or witch hazel. MOST IMPORTANT: change bed lines once every three days

yep, that and a few tans work wonders. I tan once a week just for about 10 minutes and it keeps me pretty clear.

B-5 worked great for me as well. It's pretty cheap, so trying it won't stress your wallet. One side you might want to watch for is diarrhea...at first, you'll be pissing out your ass, but you'll get over it.

Hi,

I had this exact problem The solution was Roaccutane from Roche. It dries up the sweat glands, and after 2-3 months therapy, your acne pretty much goes away.

There are side affects as it is a vitamin A dirivative and can be toxic so you have to have blood work done and avoid orals whilst on it.

It really does work.

I have done 5mg per day whilst on a cycle with no bad affects but the first time I was on it the doc prescribed 20Mg per day.

Google it to find out more about it. It is really the only thing that actually works for this condition.

Does Accutane cure acne for good? Or will repeated steroid cycles just make it go back to normal? Or is accutane a one time thing?

Great thread. For me, it's the exact opposite. I never had back or shoulder acne. The first time I came OFF I broke out like crazy. Didn't really go away untill I went back ON! I'm currently 8 weeks off now and I'm the worst I've ever been. Washing twice a day with acne scrub and tanning and taking monocycline (sp?)

Will try some of the above advice however, or just go back on :)

I got something called Evoclin prescribed to me by a dermatologist. Cleared me right up, hasn't come back since, even when on cycle. I continue to use it year round now.

not sure if you gys can get it (im in australia) but Clindatech is awesome.

Its a topical anti-biotic cream made by dermatech. Ive had very bad back acne even before juicing as a teen and this is the only thing that has worked. Its prescription only in OZ.

I don't get very much acne, but once on Anadrol 50,

I got zits from purgatory, looked like permanent boils, the only thing that helped was Retin-A .05%

Accutane (you can get generic pretty cheap by the way) really is the only thing that works properly.

All the Benzol etc, simply kills many but not all of the bacteria that get into the blocked pores.

Accutane actually dries and shrinks the sweat glands, affects can last for years. Your first course of 2-3 months depending on if you look like Dominos or have a milder one, can be anything from 20-30mgs per day.

The affects can last for 2-3 years or longer and the acne, if it returns is never as bad. Also through personal experience during a cycle, I learned that you only need 5-10mg per day to get clean up for subsequent cycles.

Remember, it is a Vitamin A dirivative and toxic to the Liver so don't do it whilst on strong orals and do get blood work done. It is what dermatologists will use when the acne is serious.

It is also useful for us body builders because it makes or clears up the affects of over active sabeceous glands post cyle.

There are sides so please check out the net for these.

yea ill prob just stick with tanning and topicals for now, since well I dont have it bad I just hate ANY pimples!!!!! (and the blackheads on my nose) lol

Accutane
4 months and your done with acne for life, no matter what you cycle.

this is a bold statement Ulter, not ONE pimple here and there? And even with huge fluctuation of hormones and (grams of test)

If this is true there must atleast be sides to this state of the body

From personal experience I think it varies from person to person.

I can tell you this from 3 cycles of accutane.

First one does the most and you get the most sides

2nd and 3d cycles (years later) with much lower doses clear up problems much quicker

Effects are very very permanent but not forever as per previous question.

The the cycles I am discussing were 30mg first cycle 3 months

the other 2 were 5mg per day for 2 months each and all worked equally well.

so you didnt get one zit on your back after a cycle of acutane? Even when using a large amount of androgenic steroids?

lots of good info in here. i actually think that what i thought was acne on my shoulders, upper back and chest is really what dieselicious said, pityrosporum folliculitis. i researched it and the pics i saw look more like what i have. i ordered ag guys accutane a few days ago and figured id give that a try so we'll see what happens

How do you get rid of pityrosporum folliculitis I think I have that too!!!!!!! Is it cured the same way? (reg. acne treatments, tanning)
