Well, this is an area where everyone is different and I can see all sides. I personally think calling the killing of the unborn murder is a little extreme, but definately manslaughter seems to fit. I think more than simple assault for sure.

Since this baby was alive after it was born, I'm assuming that that it was breathing. I would be comfortable calling this a murder

This is a little different. The baby was actually born, and the autopsy showed it's lungs filled with air, so it was breathing after it was born. Whether the baby would have died or not is irrelevant in our legal system since the (as the article put it) hastening of a death that's inevitable is still considered murder. She was alive, breathing air, outside the body of the mother, and then dumped in a trash bag.

It can be. I know one born at 21 weeks who's still alive, and three years old now.

This is why I am completely against second term abortions unless the life of the mother is in danger.

wow. Is it a healthy baby? Unless this is an anomaly, usually 6 month babies are premature and either mentally/physically impaired to the point a normal life would be impossible for them.

He has had health issues here and there, mostly when he was a baby, but all in all right now he's about as healthy and mentally healthy as any three year old....I'm trying to get a picture.
