Attainable Goal For Aug 2002

With that much time...

What do you think is an attainable goal for a 19yr old...

6'1 243 14-16% bf...

Can't do legs for at least 3 months....ACL operation...etc,etc...

Benches 255...

So i have from now till Halfway through August...

What fo you think would be a good goal?

PS haven't really been doing much low rep stuff....at all or at least very rarely...

I ain't scared to eat either...i want to be 270 by than as well...

Also am gonig to be doing sprints when i get my knee back into form...prob march till Aug....

I have always seen bench as my weak point so i want to get it up...This mentality prob hasn't helped me either :(

Anyhow...what do you think is an attainable goal...?
Naturally...no gear...

Thanx to anyone who can help me in this in advance...

Like anything in life, you get out what you put in.
If you eat well(everyday) and stick to a good workout program and give it your all you should be fine....i did'nt really get your goal, was it just to gain that weight (30 lbs???) That is going to be hard to gain in one year without gear.
Depending on your genetics, some can gain 2 lbs a week, some 2 lbs every 6 months....genetics can be a bitch!!!

Good luck with your training and diet

Actually since i decided to really start eating 2 wks ago....since basically eating not too much after surgery..lost 15pds...

I have gained 6 pds....

from 139....to 145...almost 146....

I think i can be 270...
any natural supplement i can take to help me out...

I figure creatine on and off....

ZMA...for some anabolic support...supposedly like over 50% of players are deficioent in zinc and magnesium...

So...

What i really was wondering though...is if i am benching 255 now...what do you think i can bench in almost 10 months(9.5) if i workout hard and eat well...

"what do you think i can bench in almost 10 months(9.5)"

how long is a piece of string?

its hard to say.

im with welshy you get out what you put in.

the best natural supplement is food.

I dont know what ZMA is like in america......but in australia its much cheaper to but the ingredients by themselves.

I forgot to ask as well..........
what sort of program do you follow and how do you have it set out?

i was thinking if i did westside trasining and eventually move up to using chains and bands....say 3 mos from now.

I figure i might be able to make bigger gains than usual because i can't workout my legs....

I dont think that you can get a solid answer.

unless you find a gypsy who can see into the future.

buckle down eat like a mad man, work hard, work smart, set out a periodization plan, sleep a lot.
that is my plan.

i also have the same goal as you. (although i weight a bit less that you...40 odd pounds) I wish to be bench pressing 160kgs or 162.5kgs(breaking the record for the league/division i will be in) by mid next year. a goal that i can reach or come pretty damn close.
i think you may have it easier: you want to put on weight......i want to lose it.

this is my plan:
I have found my weak spots on my lifts and i will gear my training to those particular points.
I also have many strength imbalances that i hope to take care of (namely sholders).

so the first step is to find out what needs work.

i havent been lifting that long so i dont know how much you can take as advice......
i will refer you to a solid article which is helping me at the moment.
it will help you lay out a plan and understand westside

Thanx a lot endpoint.
I am definitly gonna check those links out. I hope things work out for you too. I wanna shock the coaches when i come back to football camp next year. I missed this year because i tore my acl in practice before the season started. My bench is crap...in fact i would say i rarely touch the bench because i prefer dumbbells. Hopefully, my bench will shoot up when i give it all this added and much needed attention.
