I am very confused about what people mean when they use the term "aspirate" in this forum. To me this word means to draw fluid into a syringe, but in the contexts that this word is often used on this board, this definition doesn't make sense.
My thought is that people on here talk about aspirating when they inject and then pull back on the syringe to see if there is any blood. If there is blood, that means you have hit a vein and you should choose a different site to inject.
Am I correct? Is this what people mean?
