Aspirating with a air bubble.

Hey bros, recently I've been injecting using the air bubble technique to minimize oil left in the syringe after injection.

However when I aspirate I can't seem to draw any air bubbles, is this normal? Nothing comes up at all.

Is it possible to aspirate too hard as well? My past two injections have been killing me. Next injection I'm just going to flick the plunger lightly to check for blood, see if that helps with the pain.

I use the air bubble technique and have never aspirated . I think it's unnecessary .

You can pretty much feel if the pin is in correct spot or not, I have done many pins since I like short esters and have never had a problem

I hear ya, I'd just rather not risk it

While pinning I can CLEARLY feel when I hit a vein ... it is a very distinct feeling which you cannot describe to anyone ... you have to have felt it. I personally do not like the idea of pinning IM in quads or glutes without aspirating.

This^^. You will know if your getting any in a vein immediately. If this happens just go a little deeper and your good. I never aspirate its a waste IMO

Hi zinergy

Some guys tend to get pip when they're injecting short esters like propionate. Is that what you're using?

I rarely aspirate myself. This is only because I've been self injecting HRT for 12 years and like to think I know my around my body and how it reacts etc.
However, if a person is new or relatively inexperienced with self injecting, then I'd highly advise them to aspirate each and every injection. Aspiration is also a must do if you think you might have plunged into a vein. Basically, wherever there is doubt, draw it out.

Aspirating is a waste of time. I've been injecting for years and never aspirated. Ive never see it done in the field either, it's plain stupid anyone actually would.

I just developed a stupid paranoia around it after I struck my first vein (many years ago) and carried on injecting. I have never hit a vein before, so I didn't know then what felt so weird. I got such a bad fever I felt like dying. In all probability, if that never happened to me, I would also not have worried about aspirating. I do not see the issue around not koing it ... just my personal preference based on a personal mistake many years ago. lol!
