Army Question

Since your in the army, i guess you should do pushups. Alot of guys I know that went to the army did 50 pushups/day. You sould try to do a set of pushups shoulder width 20-25, then try a set of diamond pushups, thats where you form a triangle with your thumbs and index fingers.

Im not sure what else there is for you to do but its a start.

If you feel sore the day after wait til the sorness goes away before doing more.

I don't think pushups are so good for gaining mass (though they are good for getting stronger). Try regular BB-training, high weights, low reps. Pullups are great for your back, benchpressing for your chest. You could also try weighted pushups, e.g. with a filled backpack or someone pushing you down.

And be sure to eat enough (both total calories, and proteins), and rest enough in between trainings.

I mean no disrespect, but if you're a female, why are you asking this?

Gaining a lot of muscle will be difficult if someone just finished Ranger school. There is still plenty of cardio and overtraining to do.

Thaibox, perhaps because some women MIGHT want to get muscular too? DUH!

BTW I agree with you that getting/keeping muscle probably will be hard for veggielifterchick if she continues doing a lot of aerobic excercize.

Hey, relax. :)

I asked it because women can't go to Ranger school.

This is a question for my boyfriend, not for me. I'm not in the army.

Does anyone who has gone to ranger school or who is actually in the army have any advice?

I would have to say eat more and lift heavy. in the military, they base their physical training on mostly plyoymetric/calisthenic exercises and little to no weight training. he will probably have to hit the gym, if he isn't already, and adjust his diet to where he is eating 5-7 small meals a day, as opposed to eating in the chow hall 3 times a day.

I'm sorry! As I read it, VLC asked this for herself and I didn't know women couldn't go to Ranger school (ain't that strange  ) And it's just so many men are talking shit about women and muscles (at least in my experience); I automatically assumed you were the same, but obviously you're not :)

Definately not. Since my girl has been with me, she has found a new love in powerlifting. Couldn't be happier:)
