Arm wrestling...

Im into powerlifting, but i have taken interest in another area of power as well. Arm wrestling. What are the major muscles involved in this? Id guess the biceps but im not sure. Any exercises i can add to my routine to improve arm wrestling strength? Any info is appreciated.

My brother is an armwrestler, I will e-mail him and have him post some websites for you regarding armwrestling.

I do know that one of the best in the world is some guy named Brzink, you may try putting that in on a search engine.

My dad is a really great armwrestler as well, He and my brother entered the Oklahoma Armwrestling Championships a couple of years ago and both did well. Dad seems to think that hand and forearm strength are key along with being really quick.

Forearm strength, rotator cuff strength.

Most of arm wrestling tho is just a matter of basic physics. If you can position your arm at a certain angle (closer to the table?, I forget) then you've got the edge. There are a lot of tricks in arm wrestling....

The most important factor is arm wrestling is tendon strength, it is genetic and if you don't have it, you can never be a truly great arm wrestler....working out will improve your performance, but there are guys who have never lifted a weight in their life who could tear a 600lb bench presser's shoulder right out of the socket arm arestling.......from my own personal experience guys who can throw a baseball fast or a football far usually have this type of strength......other than that leverage and arm length are contributors.....any rotator cuff exercise will help along with forearm and grip work....hammer curls are beneficial too.

OK...

I hear a lot of people say it has a lot to do with technuque. ZzuluZ said there are a lot of tricks involved. Can anyone give me some advice on technique or some of the tricks? Im basically using power right now. THANX
