Well wonder how long he will accept a state trying to excercise thier rights....I bet that wont set well with his communist/socialist view.....

PHOENIX – Gov. Jan Brewer ignored criticism from President Barack Obama on Friday and signed into law a bill supporters said would take handcuffs off police in dealing with illegal immigration in Arizona, the nation's busiest gateway for human and drug smuggling from Mexico.

They must have qutie a few million for legal expenses defending their bill - knowing full well it'll be turned down by the federal judges. What a smart state.

It makes perfect sense. They have the right to force you to buy health insurance, but your police don't have the right to question obvious illegal aliens.

It's kinda like pushing to give the Securities and Exchange Commision a truckload of new powers when they can't stop dozens of their own 200k+/year executives from surfing thousands of porn sites per month.

I doubt it ever survives the civil rights test on the federal level....but it would be great if it did. Imagine how positively it would affect our economy to keep the billions of U.S. dollars here in our economy instead of it going to Mexico.

Good for Arizona for taking some initiative in dealing with the problem, while the federal government continues to stand around with their thumbs up their asses doing nothing about it.

Taxpayers will spend millions on lawyers and it will just get overturned by federal courts once it gets a civil rights challenge. End result: millions will be spent, lawyers will live it up, law will be destroyed... nothing will change.

Millions spent by az "just to make a point".

Smart state. Making laws they know will never stand a court challenge. Arizona has too much money clearly.
