Are hamburgers bad?

Needhelp

New member
It's about the only relatively healthy food for my school lunch. Will this be bad to eat? Or it wont really make a difference since it's just one hamburger every schoolday?

Caffeteria hamburgers are usually complete trash. I'm sure they still have some nutiritional value to it... like protein (prolly like 15g), carbs and fats can be high. Hard to tell what's in them.

If you want nice burgers, have buffalo burgers. 20g protein a paddy, 0 carbs, close to no fat as well. Just have to worry about the bun.

It's too bad school cafeterias serve such crap. No wonder so many kids are fat, and even obese these days. But they think they serve healthy food if they serve salads or other vegetables. The protein sources in such places is very poor. It's all carbs, carbs, carbs.

EAting a couple patties shouldnt hurt you too bad, just make sure you keep tabs on how many grams of fat your getting in them and adjust accordingly the rest of the day and youll be ok(No cheese btw). But I am in agreement that School food is probably not the best quality. Try to find out who there supplier is and maybe you can find out what exactly the nutitonal info is on those babies.

yes,,next time as the lunch lady for a buffalo burger,,if she says she dont have it, then just settle for orstrich burgers

nothing beats a doulbe bacon cheeseburger once a day if your goal is to get fat. NOTHING!

Needhelp, how old are you?

If you are in your teens, one burger per day will not kill you, especially if you are a hardgainer. But you need to eat healthier for the rest of the day.

I sometimes eat 8-12 double cheeseburgers a day from McDonalds for my CKD. Works fine .. and I'm still dropping fat on it, slowly but surely.

It 'all' depends on the requirements of your diet and if the food(s) meet the requirement for your diet ( or for a particular meal during the day )

doubt it!
but if you say so, ok.

I'm 16. Yea the schoolfood is all horrible, I wish we had a salad bar.. that wouldnt be so bad. And no they're not going to be making hamburgers except for the first lunch so that means the only thing I can eat is chicken nuggets--that's worse than the hamburger, I hate my school.

The food at schools are bad for you and it tastes like shit, at least Taco Bell is tasty. Anyway, why can't you pack a lunch, tuna, turkey, just about anything would be better than eating school food.

I could pack a lunch but the other meals I have to eat a protein bar because we cant have food in the halls, actually i'm not even sure if we can bring in other food to the cafeteria--they want us to buy their food.

At 16, you're still growing anyway. Eat as healthy as you can, but don't sweat it too much. This is a time in your life when you can eat pretty much what you want within reason, and assuming you're working out regularly.

Focus on your training and feed your body to let it grow naturally. Don't worry about packing on a bunch of weight right now. Thinking in those terms could prove unhealthy for you. Just stay in the gym, eat healthy and eat a lot. You will get what you want.

I think a protein shake would do you better than a protein bar. You get way more grams/protein and it`s much cheaper. Those bars get expensive for a few of them a day.

Dry powder in a shaker then just add water when ready to drink.
