Anyone take a high dosage of Vitamin A to help clear up any acne?

16,000 IU per day for adult males. Some call it a natural approach to accutane.

16000 iu is too low, accutane is much safer than a high does of vitamin a. it works but it harms much more. accutane is the way to go. i would never consider what ur thinking.

My doc had me do that it did not do shit for me. I used acnetame and the ance wash from needto. Stuff works great...

Is it cystic acne or regular pimples?

I think some cystic and some regular. But most of it has cleared up dosing about 100,000 to 140,000 IU's everyday. It worked like a charm and do not want to discontinue treatment. I have not seen any negative side effects what harm will it do?

Vitamin A is fat soluble so it can become toxic. Do a search on it...

Im on Cyp now and breaking out like crazy. Im needing to order some Accutane. How do you take it? I have only been using alcohol wipes in the morning and at night for my back and chest.

I can tell you what my Dr. Told me. Trust me, i tried everything you name it and i tried it. I know not everyones body reacts/responds the same but at least i can tell you what worked for me. I had severe and i mean severe cystic acne and pimples. After trying to get accutane from a derm without success and antibiotics only i saw my Dr. to try again. He laughed at me and said i should of called because its simple. He prescribed Finesteride and said to get rid of pimples get rid of what causes it. From what i understood Finesteride is like the male only version of accutane in a way that it reduces DHT which attaches to the root of hair folicles. I didnt believe him but after 1 pill i actually saw a major difference. Now i only take it as needed because it has sides like accutane but it wiped me clean. Its for hair growth i believe but actually clears hormonal acne. I stopped taking it after i cleared and about 5 days later started to get another cyst under the skin, i took one pill again and the next day it actually had a scab over it and i was very impressed. Its been a week now and nothing yet and still getting stronger in the gym! Hopefully this helps someone cause i know i was in a bad spot and embaressed about it. This is what worked for me and im severly happy now and no sides to deal with! I cant find anything on Finesteride helping acne but my Dr knew it would and in my case it did.
