OK - am I the only person who thought the story would have been better w/o the entire LE thing???

JEEEZZZ MANN!!!! do you never relent??? shit.

again.. yet another lame attempt to try an woo the heart of the lovely velvett...

fuck.. get a damn life mr. fuckin stuck. (<---- that's kinda funny sounding ain't it? kinda like mr. buff n stuff.. ha.. i crack myself up)

Seriously - I didn't get it...he was living a real life until he passed out on the street and then the dream began and lasted 150 years???

Is that right....??

Yeah, that's right. I just actually watched it last night for the first time and the ending sucked. I really didn't like the movie and was confused throughout the most part. I definitely thought it was going to be better.

Funny, the movie was perfectly clear and easy to follow for me,

I for one loved it. I love those type of sci-fi movies. If you think about it it was kinda like Matrix.

That movie sucked.

It would have been better if they'd clipped 30 minutes out of the middle and added 15 to the end.

Basically, too much trite dialoge and set-up. Not enough revelation.

I can recall even in AP English in High School that we would get chastisedby the teacher if we had a "and it was all a dream" way of ending a story. it was like the litmus test of if you just wrote a shitty story.
it has a pretty decent soundtrack and there are some cool visuals in the movie - but other than that, it was just so amazingly boring that never want to see it again.
both my girlfriend and myself checked our watches 3 times during that movie - it just *wouldn't* end.

Had to watch it 2X to understand well all of the dialogue (im Dutch ya know!).

A very big mistake in the plot of it. The film says he died THEN he was taken to the cyro storage and began his lucid dreaming. Oke fine, but HE WAS ALREADY DEAD! No brain activities, dead, so how is he able to dream at all??

That movie kicked ass.

Saw it in the theater very late after waking up very early and worked a long day. Stayed awake during the whole thing and understood it completely. Guess you just have to have a mind for that. I also thought A.I. and Memento were kickass movies.

LMAO... Totally.
Dreams suck, too easy. Plus you dont know what storyline to get into cuz u think "oh, it'll just be another shitty dream"

That was one of the dumbest movies ever;

#1) At the end (I wont spoil it) I felt as if I'd opened an endless series of boxes packed within boxes, merely to unwrap a cheap casio watch.

#2) The characters in the moves are never defined that well..

#) To explain why it doesn't make psychological sense, why the dreamy logic contradicts itself, I'd have to reveal plot twists. That I won't do.

For people they say get it, really don't because there was nothing to get.. it was more or less a Pulp fiction kind of movie where the whole movie just didnt make sence. Most people cant handle that and complain it was dumb, others self righteously claim to have "gotten the whole thing".. heh..

Saw it, it sucked, Yea I understood it but it was retarded. The only part I liked is when it showed P. Cruise's tits and I also enjoyed the sounds and faces of Cam Diaz getting fucked. Too bad I think Tom Cruise is a fucking homo.

I think scrappy said it best. It's like the writer was late on his homework and had to finish the story overnight so he wouldn't get in trouble and just made up the ending real quick. Rather lame in my book.

Steroid Virgin...

I actually liked Pulp Fiction much better than this crap! It definitely was a waste of my time. I kept thinking it was going to get better....but NO...it definitely sucked.

I agree...Pulp Fitction had several different plots centering around the specific characters...It flowed nicely, and all plots tied together at the end...Good flick, I own it as a matter of fact...No comparision to Van. Sky....

Pulp Fiction sucked dick.

I saw half of that movie and had to tell my friend to turn it off.

vanilla sky was ok. great concept but couldve been a lot better.. how can you not understand it though? they explain everything in the last 10-15 minutes of the film..

never got the hype about pulp fiction.. thought it was an ok movie but definitely not great.

Le was a metaphore for Scientology. If you look into one of their books you will see the same type of pictorial illustration. Bogus and Im ashamed to have payed for such garbage.

They kept him life support after his overdose.

It was not a dream.

it was partially real and partially the paid for lucid dream gone wrong.

it was a poor script to start with, and then a poorly done remake of the spanish version.

this thread is ancient.

It was an amazing script, great directing and wonderful editing.

Plus, I now have respect for Tom's acting.

My favorite scene is the Autumn in the park scene after the accident.

You guys are nuts! Vanilla Sky is genuis! One of Tom Cruise's best ever! The soundtrack was fantastic, the story was amazing, how could you not like it? The whole time your watching you have this weird feeling that you aren't sure of- any film that can make you feel something is good. For those that didn't get it- here is the deal:
Tom Cruise's character is a rich playboy type who meets the Penelope Cruz character and falls in love with her immediately. He then gets in a horrible car accident that disfigures his face. Well, obviously since he has been in the hospital and so forth he loses Penelope Cruz(since they did only meet once its not like they were going out)- then he meets her again with his face all fucked up and she weirds out. That is where he passes out on the street. Now, after this he goes on with his life for a bit before meeting up with the Lucid Dream people although the movie doesn't show it right away. Still with me people? What the lucid dream company does is basically put your brain on life support until sometime in the future when you could possibly be revived from death(body death anyway). So...he kills himself with pills and I assume rushed to the Lucid Dream people who put him on the Lucid Dream program which was him being all in love with Penelope and being happy. Its a dream that you can make up before you die and not be aware of while you are "dreaming". You would think its real. Similiar to the Matrix concept. In reality he never really hooks up with Penelope or anything to the effect. He dies a miserable wreck with a fucked up face. In his dream he is king. Get it? How can that be boring to you? I guess if you are more into action movies you might not get movies where you have to use your brain. I guarantee this will be a reality before too long. You'll be able to choose the lucid dream as an option when you die. Sort of like cryogenics.
