Mavy, if you are talking about store bought Nabisco Fig Newtons then I would stay away because I am a freak about staying away from foods with partially hygrogenated (trans fat) oils in my food. There is a gram of trans fat per 31g serving.
Per their website:
Ingredients: ENRICHED FLOUR (WHEAT FLOUR, NIACIN, REDUCED IRON, THIAMINE MONONITRATE [VITAMIN B1], RIBOFLAVIN [VITAMIN B2], FOLIC ACID), FIGS PRESERVED WITH SULFUR DIOXIDE, SUGAR, CORN SYRUP, HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, WHEY (FROM MILK), PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED SOYBEAN OIL, MALIC ACID, SALT, BAKING SODA, CALCIUM LACTATE, YELLOW CORN FLOUR, SOY LECITHIN (EMULSIFIER), POTASSIUM SORBATE ADDED TO PRESERVE FRESHNESS, ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR, MALTED BARLEY FLOUR.
Also same interesting stuff I picked up on the Nabisco website...
Trans fat content is not currently listed on product labels, but we are providing the information currently available to us on our website. Keep in mind that ingredients and formulations change, so this information may also change. The trans fat content of this product is 1g per 31g serving.
