Anyone here a Mel Brooks fan?

The only one I really liked was that history of the world one.
Brooks was great. It's too bad you cannot make movies like his anymore. Too many fucking whiners would scream that it offends them and is "innapropriate".
I hate that word.

Unfortunately, politically correctness has forced movies like you mentioned to the back burner.

One of my favorite scenes from Blazing Saddles is when Sheriff Bart (Cleavon Little) was talking to The Waco Kid (Gene Wilder) about his past as being the most ruthless and accurate shooter in the west.
Wilder holds up his hand and Little says...As steady as a rock.
Wilder holds up his other hand that is shaking like a leaf and say's..."Yea, well, this is my shootin' hand"
I need to watch that movie again...

Blazing Saddles was great.....I also like The Producers -- Springtime for Hitler was hilarious!

Mel Brooks is a comic genious, plain and simple 
Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles are by FAR 2 of my all-time favorite flicks.
Who can forget such timeless 1-liners such as these?...
(if you don't know what movies/scenes these are from, then you're not a true Mel Brooks afficianado)

In German (I think German) "Frau Blucher" means glue, which is why the horses always whinnied, but Mel Brooks admited that no one really got the joke after the movie was made....

i recently caught spaceballs on USA. i saw this at a theatre in the 80s and remember it was not that good, especially coming after mel's really good movies. it was funny on tv though for some reason.
especially funny was joan rivers who played sort of a CP30 robot painted in gold. joan was really funny in the 80s before she became a plastic surgery freak and awards show loudmouth.
