anyone find carb cycling still effective even if you dont go into ketosis?

ive been playing around with different macros, lots of trial and error. too low carb and i basically start deteriorating. only carbs i get on my low days were 66grams from 48 ounces of v8 juice everyday. losing fat very comfortably but still too much muscle. so today i decided im going to add in 30 grams of maltodextrin to my post workout shake. just to replenish some glycogen to keep myself from getting completely depleted.

i guess ill see how it goes but wondering what your guys oppinions were
 
i am currently carb cycling, and on my low days i gets carbs only from veggies. i average 50 g on low days. I was using keto stix, but they never really showed ketosis. i would be neutral or maybe the slightest shade of pink. barely visible. I've heard that you can still be buring fat even though you dont register in ketosis.
 
thanks for the reply man. idk im starting to question if i might be adding fat now that i added that maltodextrin even though its only 30 grams.
