anybody getting rich with google ads?

heavy_duty said:
no I dont mean you run google ads I mean you let ads run on your site and you are the one who gets paid for it.

it depends on your site's traffic. also on how many times they click the google ad. could be a lot of money or just a waste of web space.

Man I just want to know if anybody here is doing it and making money?
I know what it is and how it works but that's all theory.

Well this is interesting... how much they pay?

pay per click

a few bucks here and there.

I know some friends who have web sites who get $50 - $100.00 per month but I'm told you can make a hell of a lot more.

lol, you better have a booming website cus you only get about 5 cents everytime someone clicks on the ad

Dude, my little neighbor has pictures up on microstock sites like iStock, etc.. and they only pay like a dime per download. He is regularly clocking between 600-900 per month doing nothing but sitting at home with no effort at all.

yeah, but still, those ads aren't that appealing to begin with

No but there are teenagers and newbies out there who will click on them.

having a motive to download something is a bit more interesting then just clicking on an ad

Making you rich? Hell, no. Making a hobby page self-supporting? Sure.

I know a guy who's running it on his blog, and he says it nets him about a dollar a day. Plus there's no baby-sitting required once it's set up. Two other outfits he tried never accumulated enough cash to cut a check -- and they wanted to put really cheesy, embarrassing ads up.

Google AdSense only pays once a month, and only after it accumulates to more than $100, so that means he gets a check for $100 - 120, once every three or four months.

That's with a page that gets a modest amount of steady traffic. It shows up decently on a couple of techie search queries but it isn't really a big destination site. If you have a hook that would get you more traffic of course you'd make more money.

yah I have heard a lot of "it pays for the site".
I bet if you get all your pals and their pals to hit the site daily and click on ads daily then shit could add up too bu they prolly check ip#'s for that.

I know if you go to your own site and start clicking the ads like crazy they'll shut your ass down LOL

Elaborate. Where is he getting the pics?

He takes them.

Sits around the house taking pics of anything. Pencils, remotes, food setups, abstract designs (glass patterns, bubbles, etc..). Literally anything you can imagine.

just go to istockphotos.com and see what people post. You don't have to have really great pics. People often purchase a XXX amount of pics for XXX per month. At the end of month if they haven't gotten enough they just click on anything to use the remaining amounts they are allocated since the number doesn't roll over.

Oh, hell yeah. Lot of demand for that sort of stuff, and a great excuse to hire "girl next door" types to model for you. :D

When you get a chance. Get me some info about what he is doing and how long he has been doing it for. I think I have somebody who would be PERFECT for something like this.

The market for images is so huge I don't think he will tread on your neighbors market share :)

It has to bounce back. Any online merchant will tell you that Google will pwne the internet over the next several years. No matter what the bulls and bears do right now, Google is set up for success.

They have made their search engine so powerful, that there are now companies making MILLIONS just from making websites more appealing to Google(SEO Firms). A whole new business created just from the need to have a website that Google established standards deem "relevant" . . . Genius.
