Anybody ever had acupunture to treat lower back or other pain?

Saw something last night on the tube (MSNBC) about a surgical technique called (I believe) copilation. Something about sending sound waves into a herniated disc to relieve pressure on the nerve. Supposed to be VERY EFFECTIVE with no bad results reported thus far (the risks are minimal to severe though). Log onto the website and I believe they said click on "more info" or something of that sort.

Good Luck.

O ja i had rolfing in 1991 for when i hurt my lower back playing foetbal (soccor in amerika). I hurt so much and could not bend over AT ALL. The chiropraticor helped a bit, but this old Duitse (german woman) was trained with rolfing and it was wonderful.

As FitFossel says it does hurt a bit, but helps the injury very much.

Did you try other forms of therapy? If so, how did they compare to rolfing? Would you say rolfing "fixed" you, or got you to to the point where you healed naturally -- or did it just help and you learned to live with the pain afterwards?

I have no pain now at all and none for 10 years (in the back anyway).

O i was in pain for maybe 6 months and nothing helped very much. I went often to the chiropractor and it help for a short time, then pain would be coming back after only a few days.

I had rolfing every day for two weeks and after there was only a VERY small amount of pain (not even pain actually but dont know the proper english word). After about another week of rest after the rolfing treatments there was no pain again. I then carefully started doing good mornings to strengthen the lower back and worked back to regular work out again in only maybe 2 months.
