Exactly. This is online(SaaS) project management software and the position is geared towards retention of customers who did the free trial and didn't convert or those that were users and canceled their plan. I have loved the software for about a year - I am a "customer" so the position fits me well.




I talked them up another 8K on the base from their offer - so I'm good to go. I'll be out there by September 5th.

That sounds like a horrible sales position; I have to sell to people that didn't like it enough to upgrade or didn't like it enough to keep it.....this is not "retention." You're being hired to re-sell a turd....

I'll work with the larger companies for implementation and training, I'll be doing training videos, recorded sales demos, working with people at finding different ways to use the tool, etc. I've been a user of this software for a long time - they first found me when I wrote a review about their software on my website last year.... I've been passionate about spreading the word about it; It's definitely a different kind of situation the way it all played out.

If your job is convincing someone to purchase a product or service then you're in sales. That being said, if you love the product then you have a sales advantage because you will be perceived as genuine. Don't defend your decision to me...this may be a great opportunity...I'm just giving my .02.
