Any of you eat Red Beans?

Clean

New member
Do any of you eat red beans? I was thinking with some green veggies and a protein shake? How many carbs are from the beans? is this bad?

Thanks,

Clean

I eat all kinds of beans: dark & light red kidney, black, white navy, white kidney, etc.....

I used canned & rinse/drain them in a colander.....check the can for the values as they can vary....

I like a 1/4 to 1/2 cupful tossed into a salad; chickpeas blended with red wine vinegar & spices for hummus (no tahini so very lowfat); I eat chili (white & red) often.....

Great source of low GI carbs + fiber

+ not complete proteins

Beans are a good carb source. I like red kidney beans in chilli sauce, or a mixed bean salad.

red beans and rice, cajun style.

BTW red beans + rice = complete protein source

Red beans + selegiline = should produce some nice effect as it would speed up/aid the conversion of L-Dopa in red beans to dopamine via tyrosine hydroxylaze enzyme upregulation. Don't take my word for it, I've never tried it :o

Get a can of spiced diced tomatoes or Mexican stewed tomatoes & mix with a can of drained beans, serve over rice with chicken if you want. Easy!!
