Another Fun Sunday, 11-16-03

I would like to say thanks for all of those who kept me in their thoughts and prayers during my Comprehensive exams.

Cuthbert, it will be good to see you and your associates on Sunday.

Big Whitey, thanks for the compliment.

Cheese Rocking out.

Clint: I noticed something while watching your 365 stone load. After you lap the stone, you sit your butt down real low, and when you start the load, your butt comes back up to its original position before the stone moves. Would it be any faster/easier to keep your butt where it is and cut out the extra movement?

Just an observation and my .02.

looking awesome man. everyone else too

hey, that flash of light was pretty crazy on lynns video. what do you think it was?

The ground shook hard from him dropping the stone...which maybe rattled a short in the light post next to us...not sure.

damn, scary things appen when lynn is around. Great lift on the rack deads, how did it feel?? I think you could get more easily

The rack dead didn't feel too bad. I think that I could have pulled an ugly 750-765...but the attempt would have been a moot point. I really don't see the purpose of going to failure, or that close to it...especially on an exercise like gm's, deads, or rack pulls.

I noticed that too. I made two technique errors Sunday on the stones. The first was the 310 and the 2nd was the 365. Both of them I used too much back and not enough legs IMO. The taller platforms use a totally different form than the barrels and I started the 365 like I would have a taller platform.

I always sit down butt to the floor on the stones...especially the heavy ones. It allows me to regrip, get a breath, catch the stone at a lower position (like you would on a full snatch/clean), and it lets my back relax instead of trying to round back/extend it up immediately.

I'm showing progress on them though...which at this point is a good sign.
